Part 3 - Line 4a
VOTERS EDUCATION AND STATE CAMPAIGN: MCV PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN MONTANA'S LEGISLATIVE PROCESS. EVERY LEGISLATIVE SESSION WE MEET WITH LEGISLATORS AND SERVE AS A RESOURCE TO THEM ON CONSERVATION ISSUES. AS THE CONVENER OF THE CONSERVATION WORKING GROUP WITH ITS SISTER ORGANIZATION THE MCV EDUCATION FUND, MCV LEADS THE CONSERVATION COMMUNITY'S EFFORTS TO ENSURE THAT ELECTED LEADERS UNDERSTAND THE ISSUES, HEAR THE CONCERNS OF MCV'S MEMBERS AND KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF VOTING FOR MCV'S PRIORITIES. DURING THE SESSION, WE ALSO LEAD CAMPAIGNS TO EDUCATE AND MOBILIZE VOTERS ON OUR POLICY PRIORITIES.AFTER THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION CONCLUDES, MCV RELEASES ITS ANNUAL LEGISLATIVE SCORECARD TO CELEBRATE MONTANA'S CONSERVATION CHAMPIONS AND HOLD ALL OTHERS ACCOUNTABLE TO THEIR ANTI-CONSERVATION DECISIONS. DURING OFF-SESSION YEARS, MCV FOLLOWS THE IMPLEMENTATION OF LAWS THROUGH THE REGULATORY PROCESS AND PROVIDES COMMENTS TO AGENCIES WHEN RELEVANT.
CONSERVATION POLICY AND ACCOUNTABILITY:PROTECTING PUBLIC LANDS, CLEAN AIR AND CLEAN WATER CONTINUE TO BE MCV'S TOP PRIORITIES. MCV HOLDS ELECTED LEADERS ACCOUNTABLE TO PROTECTING MONTANA'S ICONIC LANDSCAPES AND OUTDOOR WAY OF LIFE. WE DO THIS WORK BY RALLYING SUPPORT FOR POLICIES THAT INVEST IN AND PROTECT CONSERVATION OF OUR PUBLIC LANDS, WILDLIFE, AIR AND WATER CALLING OUT LEADERS WHO DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH ON THEIR CONSERVATION COMMITMENTS AND BY CELEBRATING THOSE WHO CHAMPION OUR ISSUES.
OUTREACH AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION:MCV LEVERAGES ITS STATEWIDE MEMBERSHIP TO TAKE ACTION AT CRITICAL MOMENTS FOR CONSERVATION SUCH AS DURING ELECTIONS AND THROUGHOUT LEGISLATIVE SESSIONS.
