CAPITAL OPPORTUNITIES, INC., IS A MONTANA NON-PROFIT CORPORATION ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE 'COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT' SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF MONTANA. THESE SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES SERVE TO FURTHER THE CORPORATION'S CHARITABLE PURPOSE OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY AND PROMOTING THE GENERAL WELFARE OF INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, AND COMMUNITIES. CURRENTLY CAPITAL OPPORTUNITIES MAINTAINS TEN (10) OFFICES, MOSTLY IN RURAL MONTANA COMMUNITIES.THE MAJOR SERVICE PROVIDED BY THE CORPORATION IS HOME HEALTH CARE. PERSONAL CARE AND PRIVATE DUTY NURSING SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO ELDERLY, DISABLED AND RECUPERATING INDIVIDUALS.THE PROVISION OF THESE SERVICES ALLOWS CLIENTS TO REMAIN IN THEIR OWN HOMES AS LONG AS IT IS SAFE AND APPROPRIATE FOR THEM TO DO SO.PERSONAL CARE SERVICES ARE SUPERVISED BY A PROFESSIONAL NURSING STAFF, AND DIRECT CARE IS PROVIDED BY ATTENDANTS WHO DELIVER THE BULK OF THESE SERVICES AS ENTRY LEVEL HEALTH CARE EMPLOYEES. CAPITAL OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDES ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES TO THIS ENTRY LEVEL WORK FORCE, PURSUANT TO ITS CHARITABLE PURPOSE, WHICH INCLUDE ADVANCED TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION, EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE, AND MENTORING. THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SERVICE EMPLOYEES' UNION, CAPITAL OPPORTUNITIES EMPOWERS THIS ENTRY LEVEL WORK FORCE TO INCREASE THE PROFESSIONALISM AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES OF ITS EMPLOYEES.CAPITAL OPPORTUNITIES ALSO PURSUES ITS CHARITABLE PURPOSE THROUGH OTHER 'COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT' ACTIVITIES. CURRENTLY THE CORPORATION IS PURSUING POTENTIAL HOUSING PROJECTS FOR ELDERLY AND DISABLED, AS WELL AS WORKFORCE HOUSING FOR LOWER INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES. ADDITIONALLY, CAPITAL OPPORTUNITIES IS WORKING ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY IN THE BOZEMAN AREA WHICH WILL ALSO PROVIDE CLASSROOM TRAINING AND AN ON THE JOB TRAINING CAMPUS FOR DIRECT CAREGIVERS.CAPITAL OPPORTUNITIES ALSO PROVIDES GRANTS IN THE FORM OF SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS WHO EXPRESS AN INTEREST IN HOME HEALTH CARE, AND WHO ALSO INTEND TO LIVE AND WORK IN MONTANA. THE NURSING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM TARGETS THESE SCHOLARSHIPS TO INDIVIDUALS FROM RURAL MONTANA COMMUNITIES, WITH THE GOAL THAT SOME OF THESE STUDENTS WILL EVENTUALLY LIVE AND WORK IN RURAL COMMUNITIES WHICH ARE CURRENTLY MOST AFFECTED BY THE LACK OF AVAILABLE HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS.THE SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES PROVIDED BY CAPITAL OPPORTUNITIES ARE ADMINISTERED THROUGH A VARIETY OF SUBSIDIARY COMPANIES WHICH INCLUDE HOME CARE SERVICES, LLC; ADVANCED HOMECARE INSTITUTE OF MONTANA, LLC; AND HEADWATERS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, LLC.
