OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE EXCEPTIONAL LEARNING EXPERIENCES INSPIRED BY BOTH ANIMAL INTERACTION AND INTERACTION WITH OUR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT.

OUR PRIMARY FOCUS IS FUNDING EQUINE FACILITATED LEARNING (EFL) PROGRAMS. EFL IS A PROVEN METHOD THAT ASSISTS IN DEVELOPING IMPORTANT LIFE SKILLS SUCH AS LEADERSHIP, RESPONSIBILITY, COMMUNICATION, COMPASSION AND COURAGE. HOOVES WITH HEART FUNDED EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION INSPIRED BY THE NATURAL WORLD AND GUIDED BY VALUES LEARNED FROM HUMAN-ANIMAL INTERACTIONS. PROFESSIONAL EDUCATORS CONDUCTED ACTIVITIES WITH A SPECIAL FOCUS ON TEACHING YOUTH IMPORTANT LIFE SKILLS IN A SAFE AND RESPECTFUL ENVIRONMENT. PROGRAMS WERE CONDUCTED IN A FARM ENVIRONMENT, WHICH PROVIDED THE CATALYST FOR SELF-DISCOVERY. WE UTILIZE PROGRAMS SUCH AS EQUINE LIFE SOLUTIONS(ELS) TO EDUCATE OUR SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS, BECAUSE ELS IS ABLE TO SUPPORT GROUPS OF AT-RISK YOUTH IN THE INSTRUCTION OF LEADERSHIP SKILLS WITH HORSES.
THE 2016 PROGRAMS AND SESSIONS WERE AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR RAIN OR SHINE. CLASS SIZE WAS LIMITED TO SMALL GROUPS OR INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. HOOVES WITH HEART FUNDED PROGRAMMING INCORPORATING EQUINE WORK, ART, CHALLENGE EXERCISES, FARM CARE, AND EDUCATIONAL TUTORING IN ANIMAL HEALTH AND CARE. EACH PROGRAM WAS DESIGNED TO NURTURE SELF-DISCOVERY AND GROWTH THROUGH A UNIQUELY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND DIRECT EXPOSURE TO ANIMALS AND NATURE. AS MENTIONED EARLIER, AFFORDING YOUTH THE OPPORTUNITY TO INTERACT WITH ANIMALS AND NATURE IS A PROVEN METHOD TO BRING ABOUT POSITIVE LIFE CHANGES. IN 2016 HOOVES WITH HEART OFFERED PROGRAMS FOCUSING ON DIRECTLY EXPOSING YOUTH AGES 6-21 TO FARM BASED EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION. WE PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUTH TO PARTICIPATE IN CURRICULUM INVOLVING; EQUINE FACILITATED LEARNING, CHICKENS, GOATS, HORTICULTURE AND WOODWORKING. THESE CURRICULUMS ARE DESIGNED TO FOSTER IMPORTANT LIFE SKILLS AND SELF-DISCOVERY. THERE IS A SUBSTANTIAL BODY OF RESEARCH SHOWING THAT DIRECT EXPOSURE TO ANIMALS AND NATURE IS IMPORTANT TO THE NORMAL DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN, AND TO THE EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS.
