TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR HOMELESS IN DALLAS. CIMARRON PLACE IS UGM'S TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FACILITY. IT PROVIDES LOW-COST HOUSING FOR MEN THAT HAVE COMPLETED THE NECESSARY REHABILITATION FOR THEM TO ACQUIRE FULL-TIME WORK. TRANSITIONAL HOUSING IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARD RE-ENTRY INTO THE COMMUNITY WITH STABILITY AFTER BEING HOMELESS. THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE SERVED IN TRANSITIONAL AT CIMARRON PLACE IS ROUGHLY 430. THE POPULATION SERVED CONSISTS OF HOMELESS MENTALLY-ILL, HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS RECOVERING FROM ADDICTIONS, ELDERLY OR HANDICAPPED PERSONS, AND REHABILITATED HOMELESS EX-OFFENDERS WHO WOULD NOT QUALIFY FOR PUBLIC HOUSING BECAUSE OF PAST FELONY CONVICTIONS.
