CAVALRY, A MINORITY VETERAN-LED NONPROFIT, OPERATES A DEPARTMENT OF LABOR REGISTERED APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT WITH A MISSION TO EDUCATE AND EMPOWER OPPORTUNITY YOUTH, DISABLED VETERANS, STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, UNDEREMPLOYED INDIVIDUALS, AND TITLE 1 STUDENTS. OUR PROGRAM FOCUSES ON SERVING THE UNDERSERVED POPULATION IN SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, PARTICULARLY THOSE LIVING BELOW OR AT THE POVERTY LEVEL, AIMING TO ESTABLISH THEIR FINANCIAL SELF-SUFFICIENCY. OUR PROGRAM HAS OVER AN 80% JOB PLACEMENT RATE, OVER A 90% PROJECT MANAGEMENT READY PROJECT COORDINATOR CERTIFICATION PASS RATE THROUGH THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE. OUR LAST PROJECTS RESULTED IN A 200,000 POSITIVE ECONOMIC IMPACT TO THE CITY, AREA NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND SCHOOLS. OUR TITLE 1 SCHOOLS REPORTED BACK TO US THAT AN OVER INCREASE IN POSITIVE BEHAVIOR, LESS ABSENTEEISM AND INCREASE STAAR TESTING SCORES AS A RESULT OF OR PROJECT MANAGERS GAMES FOR GOOD PROJECT INITIATIVE AND OUR SOAR ( SERVICE, OPPORTUNITIES, ASPIRATIONS AND RESULTS) PROGRAM TO ENHANCE AND SUPPORT SCHOOL CURRICULUM. ADDITIONALLY, THROUGH OUR SIGNATURE PROJECTS, THE CAVALRY PROJECT MANAGEMENT APPRENTICES HAVE MANAGED VOLUNTEER EVENTS INVOLVING OVER 1000 VOLUNTEERS, RESULTING IN A SIGNIFICANT ECONOMIC IMPACT OF OVER $200,000 TO THE CITY, AREA NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, AND TITLE 1 SCHOOLS.
