OUTREACH: THE COMMUNITY OUTREACH TEAM ADMINISTERS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE SEEDS OF HOPE FUND, OVERSEES JUBILEE'S FOOD SECURITY WORK, PROVIDES ESSENTIAL RESOURCE REFERRAL FOR RESIDENTS, AND IMPLEMENTS PROGRAMMING TO ENGAGE SENIOR CITIZENS IN BOTH EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES TO AVOID ISOLATION. MOREOVER, IN THE WAKE OF THE PANDEMIC CRISIS, THE TEAM HAS MAINTAINED EFFORTS TO REACH OUT TO JUBILEE RESIDENTS INDIVIDUALLY TO ASSESS THEIR WELLBEING AND ESTABLISH LINES OF COMMUNICATION.JUBILEE ENHANCES PROGRAMMING THROUGH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST QUALITY SERVICES FOR OUR COMMUNITY. STRONG COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS CONTINUE TO BE KEY IN INCREASING OPPORTUNITIES AT JUBILEE.
EDUCATION: JUBILEE'S HOLISTIC OUT OF SCHOOL TIME (OST) PROGRAM IS THE ONLY FREE, CERTIFIED HIGH-QUALITY AFTERSCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAM IN SOUTHEAST DALLAS. FOR LOW-INCOME STUDENTS IN GRADES K-10, JUBILEE IS OFTEN THE ONLY RESOURCE AVAILABLE FOR ENRICHMENT, SKILL-BUILDING, AND EXPOSURE TO EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. JUBILEE'S TEEN PROGRAM HAS EXPANDED TO SERVE 6TH TO 10TH GRADERS WITH A PROGRAM FOCUSED ON MENTORSHIP, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, CAREER- AND COLLEGE-READINESS, AND SERVICE PROJECTS.JUBILEE AUGMENTS OST PROGRAMS WITH SPECIALIZED STUDENT SUPPORT (S3), WHICH SERVES CHILDREN WITH LEARNING DIFFERENCES SUCH AS DYSLEXIA, ADHD, AUTISM, AND EMOTIONAL OR BEHAVIORAL DISORDERS. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SCHOOLS, S3 COMBINES DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS, TRAINED STAFF, PERSONALIZED ATTENTION, ADAPTIVE TECHNOLOGY, AND PARENT EMPOWERMENT TO MAXIMIZE EACH STUDENT'S SUCCESS. S3 STUDENTS HAVE INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PLANS AND GOALS DETERMINED BY SCHOOL SPECIAL EDUCATION TEAMS WHICH HELP DRIVE THEIR INTERVENTION PLAN.2021 SAW A RETURN TO IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING FOR BOTH AFTERSCHOOL AND SUMMER, WHICH WAS WELCOMED BY THE COMMUNITY. PROGRAMS RETURNED WITH A HOST OF NEW HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS TO ENSURE STUDENTS AND STAFF DID EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO MITIGATE THE SPREAD OF COVID-19. JUBILEE FOLLOWED PROTOCOLS SET BY THE CDC AND DALLAS COUNTY.
PUBLIC HEALTH: INSTEAD OF REQUIRING LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS TO LOCATE AND PIECE TOGETHER RESOURCES FROM MULTIPLE DALLAS COUNTY PROVIDERS (AND FIND RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION TO THEM), JUBILEE'S MODEL DELIVERS HIGH-LEVEL PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO FAMILIES WHERE THEY ARE. JUBILEE PROVIDES DAILY MEALS TO CHILDREN IN AFTERSCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAMS, AND TO SENIOR CITIZENS TWICE WEEKLY. VOLUNTEERS DISTRIBUTE BOXES OF FRESH PRODUCE AND NON-PERISHABLE FOOD AT LEAST TWICE A MONTH. FREE ADULT EXERCISE CLASSES AND POPULAR YOUTH ATHLETICS PROMOTE HEALTHY LIFESTYLES, AND JUBILEE PARK (THE ONLY SAFE GREEN SPACE FOR FAMILY RECREATION WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE FOR THOUSANDS OF SOUTH DALLAS RESIDENTS) HAS BEEN RENOVATED TO INCLUDE BALL FIELDS, PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT, AND PICNIC AREAS.JUBILEE ALSO PARTNERS WITH NORTH TEXAS MEDICAL PROVIDERS TO OFFER POP-UP CLINICS FOR SCREENINGS AND IMMUNIZATIONS FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS. JUBILEE EMPHASIZES EDUCATION AS A TOOL FOR BREAKING THE CYCLICAL NATURE OF POVERTY, SO ALL OF THE HEALTH PROGRAMS ARE ACCOMPANIED BY SOME TYPE OF EDUCATION, SUCH AS COOKING CLASSES, MEDICAL ADVICE ON DISEASE PREVENTION, AND COMMUNITY GARDENING. IN MAY OF 2021, JUBILEE BROKE GROUND ON A 15,000 SQ.FT. CLINIC THAT WILL BRING MUCH NEEDED ACCESS TO PRIMARY MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE, EXPAND EXISTING BEHAVIORAL AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, AS WELL AS HEALTH EDUCATION AND FITNESS CLASSES. THE JUBILEE PARK COMMUNITY CLINIC IS SCHEDULED TO OPEN IN THE FALL OF 2022. A NEW HEALTH & WELLNESS COORDINATOR WAS HIRED LATE IN 2021 TO HELP MEET THE EXPANDING NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY AS THE CLINIC COMES ONLINE AND YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAMMING RELAUNCHES WITH THE LOOSENING OF COVID-19 PROTOCOLS OUTDOORS.
