ESTABLISHED IN 1975, THE TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF AREA AGENCIES ON AGING (T4A) IS ORGANIZED FOR CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES. IT IS PART OF A NATIONWIDE NETWORK CREATED BY THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT OF 1965 AND OVERSEEN BY THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES. T4A MEMBER AGENCIES PROVIDE AND MONITOR A BROAD RANGE OF SERVICES FOR PEOPLE AGE 60 AND OVER AND THEIR FAMILY CAREGIVERS. T4A CREATES OPPORTUNITIES, BUILDS EXPERTISE, AND PROVIDES TOOLS FOR ITS 28 MEMBERS TO DELIVER QUALITY AGING SERVICES IN EVERY COMMUNITY IN TEXAS. T4A ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: HOSTING AGING RELATED CONFERENCES, SEMI-ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETINGS, STRATEGIC PLANNING, EDUCATING OLDER TEXANS, AND EDUCATION AND TRAINING.
