GETCAP PROVIDES A VARIETY OF SERVICES THAT ADVANCE THE SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND GENERAL WELL-BEING OF LOW-INCOME EAST TEXAS HOUSEHOLDS, THROUGH PRIVATE AND PUBLIC PARTNERSHIPS.

ENERGY AND WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANCE-PROVIDES LOW INCOME FAMILIES WITH HELP PAYING UTILITY BILLS, HOME WEATHERIZATION TO CONSERVE ENERGY AND EDUCATION TO HELP REDUCE ENERGY BURDEN. THE PROGRAM WEATHERIZED 299 UNITS.LIHEAP UTILITY ASSISTANCE PROVIDED ENERGY BILL PAYMENTS FOR LOW INCOME CLIENTS ASSISTING 7,575 HOUSEHOLDS AND 15,810 INDIVIDUALS. THIS IS AN INCREASE FROM PRIOR YEAR.
EDUCATION SERVICES- PROVIDED THROUGH HEAD START PROGRAM FOR CHILDCARE, EDUCATION AND SUPPORT SERVICES FOR CHILDREN AGES 0 TO 5. THE PROGRAM ASSISTS IN THE TOTAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHILD THROUGH HEALTH, NUTRITION, EDUCATION AND PARENT INVOLVEMENT. SERVICES WERE PROVIDED FOR 476 PRE-KINDERGARTEN AGE CHILDREN WITH A RETURN TO IN-PERSON SERVICE POST-PANDEMIC.
OTHER CLIENT ASSISTANCE-VARIOUS PROGRAMS PROVIDED SOCIAL SERVICES TO LOW INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES. THE RETURN TO FULL IN-PERSON SERVICES AND SERVICE DELIVERY THROUGH THE MOBILE OFFICE UNIT MEANT THE ABILITY TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY RELIEF SERVICES TO HOUSEHOLDS AFFECTED BY NATURAL DISASTERS AND ROUTINE ASSISTANCE TO HOUSEHOLDS IN COUNTIES WHERE THERE IS NOT AN OUTREACH OFFICE. THE RISE PROGRAM ENROLLED 14 INDIVIDUALS AND TRANSITIONED 4 INDIVIDUALS OUT OF POVERTY. PROJECT TURN AROUND PROGRAM CONTINUED TO PROVIDE GED CLASSES/SERVICES. THE SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE " PROJECT SUPPLY OUR SCHOOLS" PROVIDED SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR LOW INCOME STUDENTS IN ALL NACOGDOCHES COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
