THE MELINDA WEBB SCHOOL - MASTERS LEVEL TEACHERS OF THE DEAF AND LOW STUDENT-TEACHER RATIOS HELP STUDENTS AGES 18 MONTHS TO 6 YEARS OLD ACCELERATE THEIR DEVELOPMENT OF SPOKEN LANGUAGE, LISTENING, AND LITERACY SKILLS SO THEY CAN ATTEND MAINSTREAM SCHOOLS BY FIRST GRADE. STUDENTS HAVE ACCESS TO PHYSICAL AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS, AUDIOLOGISTS TO TROUBLESHOOT HEARING DEVICES, AND SPEECH PATHOLOGISTS. THE MELINDA WEBB SCHOOL ALSO ENROLLS CHILDREN WHO ARE NOT DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING SO THEY MAY BENEFIT FROM ITS LANGUAGE-RICH ENVIRONMENT.
AUDIOLOGY DEPARTMENT - PEDIATRIC AUDIOLOGISTS WITH DOCTORAL DEGREES PROVIDE A FAMILY-CENTERED, EVIDENCE-BASED EARLY INTERVENTION APPROACH TO ACHIEVE OPTIMAL SPEECH AND LANGUAGE OUTCOMES FOR CHILDREN WHO ARE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING FROM BIRTH TO AGE 21. TO ENABLE CHILDREN TO MAXIMIZE THEIR HEARING, OUR CLINIC IS ON THE CUTTING EDGE OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES, WHICH INCLUDE HEARING AIDS, OSSEOINTEGRATED DEVICES, COCHLEAR IMPLANTS AND REMOTE MICROPHONE SOLUTIONS.
SPEECH THERAPY SERVICES - CERTIFIED LISTENING AND SPOKEN LANGUAGE SPECIALISTS PROVIDE SPECIALIZED LISTENING, LANGUAGE, AND SPEECH SERVICES TO CHILDREN WHO ARE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING FROM BIRTH TO AGE 21.
