LEARNING CENTER IS TO INFORM INDIVIDUALS ON CURRENT ECONOMIC CONDITIONS, ACCESS TO HOUSING PROGRAMS, THE CREATION OF ECONOMIC GROWTH, AND MINORITY EDUCATIONAL IMPORTANCE AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES.
SCHOLARSHIPS/EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO ADULTS TO RECIEVE SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS SUCH AS TECHNOLOGY AND LANGUAGE COURSES.PAULINE CISNEROS POLETTE SCHOLARSHIP-SCHOLARSHIP MONEY USED TO PROVIDE EXTRA FUNDS FOR YOUNG WOMEN AT OUR LADY OF THE LAKE UNIVERSITY THESE YOUNG WOMEN ARE IN THE SCIENCE FIELDS. THE UNIVERSITY SELECTS WOMEN 'IN NEEDX AND THE EXECUTORS OF SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS REVIEWS CANDIDATES THEN DISBURSES FUNDS. ONCE A YEAR; FALL SEMESTER.
EXPENSES INCURRED TO DEVELOP SINGLE FAMILY HOUSING AND OTHER TYPES OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR LOW-INCOME PERSONS AND FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITIES OF SAN ANTONIO AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS.
OUR COMMUNITY CENTER IS THE CAROL BURNETT CENTER- IT IS THE PROPERTY ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE LEARNING CENTER. WE USE IT FOR ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES, COMMUNITY EVENTS, AND MEETINGS. WE PROVIDE THE CENTER TO OTHER ORGANIZATIONS AND GROUPS OR INDIVIDUALS TO UTILIZE FOR MEETINGS AND SMALL EVENTS AS WELL. OUR CLASSES INCLUDED:ESL, HEALTH AND NUTRITION, FINANCIAL LITERACY, PARENTING, PARENTS OF SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN AND OTHER SUCH TYPES OF CLASSES FOR PARENTS AND ADULTS IN THE COMMUNITY. WE ALSO HOSTED A HEALTH FAIR THERE, AND WILL USE THE PROPERTY FOR OUR SUMMER CAMPS IN THE SUMMER.
