AS A CHARITY, PROVIDES LOW-INCOME HOUSING AND RESIDENT SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

EXEMPT PURPOSE ACHIEVEMENTS: THE ORGANIZATION, THROUGH ITS OVERSIGHT OF OM/OV, LP, SUSTAINED THE HUD PROPERTY BASED SECTION 8 HAP CONTRACT AND CONTINUED TO MAKE 220 UNITS AVAILABLE FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS. THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAINED PROPERTY OPERATIONS INCOMPLIANCE WITH THE REGULATIONS OF HUD AS WELL AS THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS {TDHCA) AND THE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO (COSA). THE ORGANIZATION THROUGH OM/OV, LP HAD PREVIOUSLY RECEIVED FUNDING FOR PROPERTY ACQUISITION AND REHABILITATION FROM THE TDHCA AS PART OF A TAX CREDIT EXCHANGE PROGRAM AND FOR REHABILITATION FROM COSA AS PART OF A RENTAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM AGREEMENT.THE FOLLOWING TAX EXEMPTIONS CONTINUED TO BE RECEIVED:INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE 501(C) (3) INCOME TAX EXEMPTION.BEXAR COUNTY, TEXAS, APPRAISAL DISTRICT 100% PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION.STATE OF TEXAS FRANCHISE TAX EXEMPTION.STATE OF TEXAS SALES TAX EXEMPTION. THE ORGANIZATION THROUGH ITS OVERSIGHT OF OM/OV, LP, CONTINUED TO OPERATE AN ON-SITE COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTER AT WHICH THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED PROGRAMS, ACTIVITIES, AND SERVICES FOR THE YOUTH AND ADULT RESIDENTS.PROGRAMS, ACTIVITIES, AND SERVICES INCLUDED:CASE MANAGEMENT (INFORMAL) AND REFERRAL SERVICESAFTER-SCHOOL YOUTH PROGRAMON-LINE COMPUTER ACCESS AND TRAININGADULT LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES AND SUMMER YOUTH ACTIVITIES PROGRAMNATIONAL NIGHT OUT AND HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONSTO FURTHER ITS MISSION, THE ORGANIZATION MADE CONTRIBUTIONS TO HOUSING AND COMMUNITY SERVICES, INC. DBA PROSPERA HOUSING COMMUNITY SERVICES (PHCS). PHCS IS A PROVIDER OF SAFE, HIGH-QUALITY, AFFORDABLE HOUSING WITH SUPPORT SERVICES TO LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS.
