THE AURORA PUBLIC SCHOOLS FOUNDATION EXISTS TO SUPPORT STUDENTS, FAMILIES AND STAFF OF THE JOINT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 28-J OF THE COUNTIES OF ADAMS AND ARAPAHOE, COLORADO. THE FOUNDATION HAS A COMMITMENT TO CULTIVATE COMMUNITY INVESTMENT TO ENRICH STUDENT OPPORTUNITY ACROSS THE DISTRICT, THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF PARTNERSHIPS AND THE LEVERAGIING OF PROGRAMS THAT DRIVE INNOVATION AND EXCELLENCE FOR MORE THAN 40,000 STUDENTS OF THE AURORA PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT. PROGRAMS SUPPORTED BY THE FOUNDATION INCLUDE COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS, A K-12 SUPPLIES DISTRIBUTION INITIATIVE FOR TEACHERS AND THEIR STUDENT, SPECIAL PROJECTS WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS, AND A SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM.

SPECIAL PROJECTS: THE FOUNDATION SERVES AS A CONDUIT FOR A VARIETY OF SPECIAL PROJECTS THAT SUPPORT THE AURORA PUBLIC SCHOOLS DISTRICT, INCLUDING COMMUNITY ACTION ZONES, INDIVIDUAL SCHOOL PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS AND OTHER DISTRICT INITIATIVES. PROGRAMMATIC ACTIVITY FOR THE FYE 6/30/23 INCLUDED CONTINUATION OF A CAPITAL CAMPAIGN FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A STEM CHARTER SCHOOL, AURORA SCIENCE AND TECH, SERVING STUDENTS IN GRADES 6-12; STEM FUNDINGS FOR VARIOUS ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS; DEVELOPMENT OF SEL CURRICULUM TO BE USED BY ALL EDUCATORS; FOOTBALL PROGRAMS FOR VARIOUS GRADE LEVELS; AND HOLIDAY MEALS FOR SPECIFIC SCHOOLS.
THE FOUNDATION ADMINISTERS VARIOUS SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS FOR GRADUATING SENIORS ATTENDING POST-SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS. A TOTAL OF 29 SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED TO THE CLASS OF 2023.
COLLEGE & CAREER CENTERS: THROUGH FYE 6/30/23, THE FOUNDATION CONTINUED TO SUPPORT COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTERS IN THE AURORA PUBLIC SCHOOLS DISTRICT. SINCE INCEPTION IN 2014, MORE THAN 19,000 STUDENTS HAVE BEEN SERVED BY THE COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTERS LOCATED IN EACH OF THE DISTRICT'S HIGH SCHOOLS. PARTICIPATING STUDENTS HAVE EARNED MORE THAN 162 MILLION IN SCHOLARSHIPS. FURTHER GRADUATION RATES HAVE INCREASED BY 30%, DROPOUT RATES HAVE DECREASED, AND STUDENT GPAS HAVE INCREASED.
EDUCATORS EMPORIUM: THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES BRAND NEW SCHOOL SUPPLIES, AT NO CHARGE, TO AURORA PUBLIC SCHOOLS DISTRICT EDUCATORS ALL THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. SUPPLIES ARE CONSUMABLE AND TEACHERS OFTEN PROVIDE THEM DIRECTLY TO STUDENTS IN THEIR CLASSROOM. TEACHERS FROM ALL 63 SCHOOLS IN AURORA PUBLIC SCHOOLS HAVE BEEN SERVED.
