HEALTHY LIVING: AT THE Y, WE HAVE ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS THAT PROMOTE HEALTH AND WELLNESS FOR EVERY AGE AND EVERY LEVEL OF ACTIVITY. WE ARE AVAILABLE TO ALL AND RECOGNIZE THAT MANY OF THE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES THROUGHOUT OUR COMMUNITY WOULD BENEFIT FROM Y PROGRAMS AND SERVICES BUT CANNOT AFFORD TO PARTICIPATE. THE YMCA COMMITMENT TO OUR COMMUNITY ASSURES THAT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO QUALIFY. THE YMCA OF GREATER WILLIAMSON COUNTY IS HERE TO SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS THROUGHOUT THEIR FITNESS GOALS AND HELP THEM BECOME THE BEST VERSION OF THEMSELVES POSSIBLE. TAKE A CLASS, TRAIN WITH FRIENDS, WORK OUT AT ONE OF OUR FITNESS CENTERS- OR TRY IT ALL! TO MEET THESE GOALS, OUR PROGRAM INCORPORATES THE Y'S CORE VALUES - CARING, HONESTY, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY AND FAITH - AS WELL AS THE 40 DEVELOPMENTAL ASSETS SET FORTH BY THE SEARCH INSTITUTE AND THE EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING MODEL. WE WORK COLLABORATIVELY WITH FAMILIES, COMMUNITIES, AGENCIES, AND SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO ENSURE THAT EACH CHILD RECEIVES A CONSISTENT SET OF LIFE SKILLS FOR SUCCESS. WE PARTNER WITH SIX LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND OTHER NON-PROFITS AND AGENCIES SUCH AS THE VARIOUS EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATIONS FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS, GREATER ROUND ROCK COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, AND THE CITIES OF ROUND ROCK, HUTTO, CEDAR PARK, GEORGETOWN, AND BURNET AS WELL AS WILLIAMSON COUNTY. WORKING WITH THESE AGENCIES GIVES US MORE OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO PEOPLE WHO OTHERWISE WOULD HAVE FACED ECONOMIC BARRIERS TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE QUALITY YMCA PROGRAMS. AT THE YMCA, WE BELIEVE THE VALUES AND SKILLS LEARNED EARLY ON ARE VITAL BUILDING BLOCKS FOR QUALITY OF LIFE AND FUTURE SUCCESS. MOST IMPORTANTLY, CHILDREN LEARN HOW TO BE THEIR BEST SELVES. THAT MAKES FOR CONFIDENT KIDS TODAY, AND CONTRIBUTING AND ENGAGED ADULTS TOMORROW. OVER 29,600 CHILDREN WERE SERVED IN 2021 IN OUR CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER, AFTERSCHOOL CARE, CAMPS, AND OTHER PROGRAMS.
CAMP: BRINGING BACK MANY MEMORIES TO YOUTH AND TEENS, SUMMER CAMP IS A POWERFUL EXPERIENCE THAT CAN STRENGTHEN THE VALUES THAT PARENTS ARE TEACHING DAILY. OUR CORE VALUES ARE EMPHASIZED THROUGHOUT EACH PROGRAMMING DAY TO TEACH CHILDREN RESPECT FOR THEMSELVES AND OTHERS AT CAMP IN ADDITION TO EMULATING THESE CORE VALUES OUTSIDE OF THE CAMP ENVIRONMENT. WE ALSO OFFER OVERNIGHT, SPORTS, AND SPECIALTY CAMPS AS WELL.
