THE TEXAS AFT MAINTAINS TWENTY-TWO PERSONS DEDICATED TO THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING THE WAGES HOURS AND WORKING CONDITIONS OF EDUCATION EMPLOYEES IN TEXAS. THE COST OF THIS STAFF REPRESENTS APPROXIMATELY 2.3 MILLION DOLLARS ANNUALLY. THIS STAFF IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING ADVOCACY TRAINING AND PUBLICATIONS ON BEHALF OF OUR MEMBERSHIP STATEWIDE.
THE TEXAS AFT ALSO PROVIDES GRANTS TO LOCAL UNITS OF THE TEXAS AFT IN THE AMOUNT OF APPROXIMATELY $350,000 ANNUALLY TO GROW THOSE LOCALS AND ASSIST THEM IN THE SAME PURPOSES FOR WHICH THE TEXAS AFT EXISTS.
