PROGRAMS ARE COMMUNITY/ELDERLY ASSISTANCE, EDUCATIONAL STIPENDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS. TO PROVIDE, ON A NON-PROFIT BASIS, HOUSING FOR LOWER INCOME FAMILIES INCLUDING THE ELDERALY AND THE HANDICAPPED, PURSUANT TO SECTION 221 (D)(3) OF THE NATIONAL HOUSING ACT, AS AMENDED. KLM ESTABLISHED ITS EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE FUND TO HELP HIGH SCHOOL YOUTHS IN UNDERSERVED SOUTH TEXAS COMMUNITIES TO INCLUDE SAN ANTONIO MAKE THE DREAM OF COLLEGE ENROLLMENT A REALITY. FORMER RECIPIENTS OF SCHOLARSHIPS AND OR STIPENDS ARE NOW LEADERS IN FIELDS OF BUSINESS, SCIENCE, GOVERNMENT, AND EDUCATION. A RIGOROUS SELECTION PROCESS ASSURES THE EXPECTATION THAT FUTURE RECIPIENTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE SAME LEVEL OF EXCELLENCE. KLM TRUST ALSO ASSISTS WITH THE EDUCATIONAL AND LEADERSHIP GROWTH OF YOUNGSTERS WHOSE PARENTS LIVE AT THE KINGSVILLE LULAC MANOR APARTMENT COMPLEX BY PROVIDING ASSISTANCE WITH FIELD TRIPS AND NECESSARY BACK TO SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND OTHER LEADERSHIP CAMP REGISTRATION FEES ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS.
