DBA, FIRST TEE - GREATER SAN ANTONIO IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION FOUNDED IN 2000 THAT ENABLES KIDS TO BUILD STRENGTH OF CHARACTER THAT EMPOWERS THEM THROUGH A LIFETIME OF EXPERIENCES. BY SEAMLESSLY INTEGRATING THE GAME OF GOLF WITH A LIFE SKILLS CURRICULUM, THEY CREATE ACTIVE LEARNING EXPERIENCES THAT BUILD INNER STRENGTH, SELF-CONFIDENCE, AND RESILIENCE THAT KIDS CAN CARRY TO EVERYTHING THEY DO. PROGRAMMING IS FACILITATED THROUGH LIFE SKILLS PROGRAMMING, SCHOOL & COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND AMATEUR GOLF TOURNAMENTS. THE FIRST TEE MISSION STATEMENT IS "TO IMPACT THE LIVES OF YOUNG PEOPLE BY PROVIDING LEARNING FACILITIES AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS THAT PROMOTE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND LIFE ENHANCING VALUES THROUGH THE GAME OF GOLF." THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO FUND THESE ACTIVITIES THROUGH SPONSORSHIPS AND CONTRIBUTIONS FROM VARIOUS INDIVIDUALS AND COMPANIES. THERE WERE HUNDREDS OF PARTICIPANTS IN THE CURRENT YEAR.
THE ORGANIZATION PUTS ON SEVERAL COMPETITIVE TOURNAMENTS AND EXHIBIITIONS TO PROMOTE THE GOLF EXPERIENCE FOR JUNIORS, SENIORS AND OTHERS (MEN & WOMEN), BY HOSTING THESE CITY-WIDE CHAMPIONSHIPS.
