THE MISSION OF THE HOUSTON SPCA IS TO PROMOTE COMMITMENT TO AND RESPECTFOR ALL ANIMALS AND FREE THEM FROM SUFFERING, ABUSE, AND EXPLOITATION. FOUNDED IN 1924, THE HOUSTON SPCA PROVIDES THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE ARRAYOF ANIMAL ADOPTION, SHELTER, RESCUE, REHABILITATION, AND OTHER PROGRAMSBENEFITTING THE ANIMALS AND PEOPLE IN THE GULF COAST REGION. WE HELPNEARLY 60,000 ANIMALS EACH YEAR, INCLUDING DOGS AND CATS, HORSES ANDFARM ANIMALS, NATIVE WILDLIFE, AND EXOTIC SPECIES. ALMOST ALL PROGRAMSAND SERVICES OFFERED BY THE HOUSTON SPCA ARE FREE OF CHARGE (EXCEPTADOPTIONS, RELINQUISHMENTS, AND CRITTER CAMP) AND WE PROUDLY PLACE 100PERCENT OF OUR HEALTHY ANIMALS INTO NEW HOMES. THE HOUSTON SPCA IS THE ONLY ANIMAL WELFARE ORGANIZATION IN THE REGION AND ONE OF ONLY A FEW IN THE COUNTRY ABLE TO CARE FOR ALL ANIMALS ON ONE CENTRAL CAMPUS.
