WE PROVIDE FORENSIC INTERVIEWS TO CHILDREN WHO ARE VICTIMS OF PHYSICAL ABUSE, AND/OR NEGLECT. WE PROVIDED 723 FORENSIC INTERVIEWS IN 2021. WE PRIMARILY SERVE DA DISTRICT 21 - CLEVELAND, GARVIN, AND MCCLAIN COUNTIES - BUT WE SERVE CHILDREN IN OTHER COUNTIES AS NEEDED. ALL SERVICES ARE FREE OF CHARGE. WE ARE ACCREDITED BY THE NATIONAL CHILDREN'S ALLIANCE.
WE PROVIDE MEDICAL EXAMS TO CHILDREN WHO ARE VICTIMS OF PHYSICAL ABUSE, SEXUAL ABUSE, AND/OR NEGLECT. WE PROVIDED 233 MEDICAL EXAMS IN 2021. WE PRIMARILY SERVE DA DISTRICT 21 - CLEVELAND, GARVIN, AND MCCLAIN COUNTIES - BUT WE SERVE CHILDREN IN OTHER COUNTIES AS NEEDED. ALL SERVICES ARE FREE OF CHARGE. WE ARE ACCREDITED BY THE NATIONAL CHILDREN'S ALLIANCE.
WE PROVIDE ADVOCACY TO ALL CHILDREN AND FAMILIES WHO VISIT ABBOTT HOUSE DUE TO CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT. THIS INCLUDES NOT ONLY EDUCATING THEM ABOUT THE PROCESS WHILE HERE, BUT ALSO WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THEY LEAVE ABBOTT HOUSE; THE COURT PROCESS, ETC. WE SET UP FOLLOW-UP COUNSELING APPOINTMENTS. WE PROVIDE REFERRALS AND RESOURCES FOR OTHER OBSTACLES THE CHILD OR FAMILY MAY BE FACING, SUCH AS LACK OF TRANSPORTATION TO THE CHILD'S COUNSELING APPOINTMENT.
