THE CENTER RECEIVES A DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SECTION 330 GRANT WHICH IS USED TO PROVIDE PRIMARY HEALTH CARE TO PERSONS WHO ARE GENERALLY LOW INCOME AND DO NOT HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE. THE CENTER PROVIDES HIGH QUALITY HEALTH CARE TO ALL PERSONS REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY. THE GSCC PARTNERS WITH THE LOCAL LIONS CLUB TO HELP PATIENTS WITH THEIR VISION NEEDS.
THE DENTAL PROGRAM IS EXPANDING TO MORE PREVENTATIVE CARE AND MOVING FROM AN EXTRACTION-ONLY TO MINOR RESTORATIVE CARE: INCLUDING CLEANINGS AND FILLINGS BECAUSE THE NEED IS GREAT. THROUGH STAFF AND VOLUNTEER DENTISTS WORK TO KEEP UP WITH DEMAND. POOR HEALTH, INCLUDING DENTAL HEALTH, IS AT EPIDEMIC PROPORTIONS IN OKLAHOMA. THE GSCC OFFERS CRITICAL ACCESS TO DENTAL CARE AND RELIEF TO THOSE WITH OFTEN MULTIPLE ABSCESSES, AND ROTTEN TEETH.
