THE STILLWATER YMCA MISSION IS TO SERVE STILLWATER & SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING PROGRAMS BASED UPON CHRISTIAN VALUES WHICH PROMOTE THE HEALTH & WELL-BEING OF YOUTH, FAMILIES, AND SENIOR CITIZENS REGARDLESS OF THEIR ECONOMIC ABILITY. THE ORGANIZATION EXISTS TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY AND WORKS TO STRENGTHEN FAMILIES AND TO DEVELOP VALUES & BEHAVIORS THAT ARE CONSISTENT WITH CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES. THE YMCA IS FOR PEOPLE OF ALL FAITHS, RACES, ABILITIES, AGES & INCOME. VALUES INCORPORATED BY STILLWATER YMCA INCLUDE HONESTY, CARING, RESPECT, & RESPONSIBILITY. NO ONE WILL BE DENIED MEMBERSHIP DUE TO FINANCIAL STATUS OR FAMILY SITUATION. STILLWATER FAMILY YMCA IS STRONG IN YOUTH & TEEN PROGRAMMING THROUGH CHEER CLUB, YOUTH SPORTS, SWIMMING LESSONS, SWIM TEAM & DAY CAMP. STILLWATER YMCA IS THE LARGEST PROVIDER OF BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE IN THE CITY, SERVING NEARLY 300 SCHOOL-AGE CHILDREN. THE YMCA SERVICES OVER 100 YOUTH IN DAYCARE IN THE SUMMER & HAS OVER 1,000 INDIVIDUALS SIGNED UP ON YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAMS. YMCA IS ALSO COMBATING THE OBESITY PROBLEM FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES BY PROVIDING HEALTH & WELLNESS ACTIVITIES SUCH AS EXERCISE CLASSES & SWIM LESSONS. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS WITH BIG BROTHERS/BIG SISTERS, RED CROSS, PUBLIC SCHOOLS, PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT, CHURCHES, ETC TO HELP THE COMMUNITY MEET THE NEEDS OF YOUTH AT RISK.
