WAS CREATED FOR HISTORICAL PRESERVATION AND IS COMMITTED TO PROMOTING DOWNTOWN GARDEN CITY AS A BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY HUB, PROVIDING PLACES FOR INDIVIDUALS TO CARRY OUT DAY-TO-DAY BUSINESS, SHOP, LIVE, ENTERTAIN, CONNECT, AND EAT. IT STRIVES TO PROMOTE THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT AS THE COMMUNITY'S CULTURAL AND SOCIAL CENTER.

THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORS EVENTS TO ATTRACT MORE LOCAL AND REGIONAL PEOPLE TO THE DOWNTOWN AREA. SOME OF THESE EVENTS INCLUDE THE ANNUAL SUMMER SIDEWALK SALE (1,000+ SHOPPERS), FALL FEST (OVER 5,000 IN ATTENDANCE FROM ALL OVER THE REGION), THE BANNER ART PROJECT (6 WEEK PERIOD, ESTIMATES OF 800+), FIRST FRIDAY FOOD TRUCK EVENTS (ESTIMATES OF 1,500 IN ATTENDANCE) FOR FIVE MONTHS, AND THE EVENING CHRISTMAS PARADE WHICH ATTRACTS UNIQUE HOLIDAY FLOATS AND CROWDS (ESTIMATES OF 3,000+). WHEN NOT PLANNING EVENTS, THE ORGANIZATION WORKS TO REVITALIZE THE DOWNTOWN DISTRICT THROUGH VARIOUS INCENTIVE OPPORTUNITIES, AND PROVIDES GUIDANCE TO POTENTIAL AND EXISTING BUSINESS OWNERS IN THE DOWNTOWN DISTRICT.
