Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
TO KNOW JESUS CHRIST IN A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP AND MAKE HIM KNOWN THROUGH EVANGELISM. TO ESTABLISH NEW BELIEVERS IN THE FAITH AND BRING THEM TO SPIRITUAL MATURITY THROUGH DISCIPLESHIP. TO PRODUCE WORKERS FOR SERVICE IN THE LOCAL MINISTRY AND IN THE WORLD.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
THE VICTORY LIFE FELLOWSHIP NURSERY AND THE CHILDRENS MINISTRY ARE SERVICES OFFERED, FOR FREE, TO CHILDREN FROM BIRTH TO 16 YEARS OF AGE IN WHICH THEY ARE TAUGHT MORAL PRINCIPLES. THESE PRINCIPLES WILL HELP THEM TO MAKE POSITIVE LIFE CHOICES AS THEY MATURE. THE CHILDREN AND YOUTH ARE MOSTLY FROM LOW-INCOME FAMILIES AND ARE AT-RISK FOR BECOMING INVOLVED IN GANGS, DRUG ADDICTION, AND A LIFE OF CRIME. MANY CHILDREN AND YOUTH THAT WE WORK WITH HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO THIS KIND OF LIFESTYLE AT AN EARLY AGE. THE IDEA IS PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION.
PASTOR JOSE LUIS FLORES, IN 1981, ESTABLISHED A REHAB HOME TO HELP INDIVIDUALS OVERCOME ADDICTIONS AND REBUILD THEIR LIVES. THE CENTER IS LOCATED IN AN INNER-CITY AREA IN WHICH THERE IS A PROVEN PROBLEM WITH GANG RELATED ACTIVITY AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE. IN ADDITION, A NEW CHURCH WAS BUILT IN THE AREA AND MADE AVAILABLE NOT ONLY TO THE PEOPLE IN THE REHAB CENTER AND THEIR FAMILIES, BUT ALSO TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. HE WANTED TO BE IN THE SAME AREA THE REHAB CENTER WAS LOCATED, IN ORDER TO OFFER THE BEST FACILITIES AND SERVICES, THAT PERHAPS, WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE IN THE AREA.
ANOTHER ACHIVEMENT IS TO WORK WITH YOUNG PEOPLE AND ENCOURAGE A GOOD LIFESTYLE BY USING POSITIVE ROLE MODELS AND MENTORS. THEY GET INVOLVED BY USING TEACHING METHODS THAT INCLUDE CLAY, BLOCKS, LEGOS, PUZZLES, PAINTS, AND OTHER CRAFT MATERIALS, WHEN RALLYS ARE HELD IN THE COMMUNITY. RALLYS INCLUDE MUSIC, SPIRITUAL TEACHINGS, AND THE ABOVE. WE BELIEVE YOUTH ARE TRULY THE FUTURE AND REACHING THEM EITHER ONE AT A TIME OR AS A GROUP IS KEY.
