WE HOST A SERIES OF CHICAGO-BASED EVENTS THAT ARE OPEN TO THE WHOLE COMMUNITY, FOCUSED ON SPIRITUALITY AND COMING TOGETHER IN A SAFE AND NON-JUDGEMENTAL SPACE. PROGRAMS ARE ALSO OFFERED QUARTERLY AND ATTENDED BY MUSLIM-AMERICANS, NEWCOMERS TO ISLAM, AND ANYONE INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT THE FAITH. WE KEPT OUR DOORS OPEN DURING COVID.
WE EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ON ISSUES THAT THE AMERICAN MUSLIM COMMUNITY IS FACING. WE PROVIDE FOUR QUARTERS OF FULL SCHEDULES, SERVING HUNDREDS OF BENFICIARIES WEEKLY. PROGRAMS INCLUDE YOUTH OUTREACH, COMMUNITY BUILDING AND TRAINING, WELLNESS AND RE-ENTRY.
ZAKAT IS THE ISLAMIC PRACTICE OF CHARITABLE GIVING. ZAKAT IS OBLIGATORY FOR ALL WHO ARE ABLE TO GIVE. WITHIN ISLAM, IT IS CONSIDERED A PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY TO EASE OTHERS' ECONOMIC HARDSHIP AND ELIMINATE INEQUALITY.
