PRO BONO LEGAL CONSULTING: BDF'S LAWYERS HAVE PROVIDED PRO BONO LEGAL CONSULTATION IN VARIOUS ONGOING FEDERAL COURT CASES AND HAVE FILED A FRIEND OF THE COURT BRIEF IN THE U.S. SUPREME COURT RELATING TO ABORTION. BDF ENGAGED IN PUBLIC EDUCATION THROUGH VARIOUS MEDIA SOURCES ABOUT THE DOBBS ABORTION CASE. BDF CONSULTED ON ISSUES RELATING TO END OF LIFE, ADOPTION, ABORTION'S IMPACT ON WOMEN, AND STATE CONSTITUTIONAL PROVISIONS RELATED TO ABORTION.
EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS: BDF HAS CREATED AND DELIVERED DYNAMIC LECTURES, DEBATES, AND CUSTOM PRESENTATION AT LAW SCHOOLS, MEDICAL SCHOOLS. LAW AND MEDICAL CONFERENCES, UNDERGRADUATE COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES, HIGH SCHOOLS, SEMINARIES, AND RELIGIOUS AND CIVIC FORUMS ON PRO-LIFE BIOETHICS TOPICS. DESPITE THE CANCELLATION OF A NUMBER OF TALKS AND SEMINARS DUE TO THE COVID-19, BDF WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE APPROXIMATELY 29 ONLINE AND IN PERSON PRESENTATIONS DURING 2021.
MODEL LEGISLATION: BDF HAS PROVIDED LEGAL CONSULTATION ON ABORTION LEGISLATION IN SEVERAL STATESOVER THE YEARS, BDF HAS CONSULTED ON, DRAFTED MODEL LEGISLATION, AND TESTIFIED AS A LEGAL EXPERT IN LEGISLATIVE BODIES ON A BROAD RANGE OF BIOETHICAL ISSUES INCLUDING: ABORTION, HUMAN CLONING, DESTRUCTIVE EMBRYO RESEARCH, ASSISTED REPRODUCTIVE TECHNOLOGIES (ART), THE RISKS AND REWARDS OF BIOTECHNOLOGY, EUGENICS, SEX TRAFFICKING AND COERCED ABORTION, PRENATAL DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION, HEALTHCARE RIGHTS OF CONSCIENCE, PHYSICIAN-ASSISTED SUICIDE AND EUTHANASIA, ADVANCED CARE DIRECTIVES, AND RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN POSITIVE LAW AND NATURAL LAW.
