PERFORMED EIGHT FULL SYMPHONIC CONCERTS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN SE LOUISIANA DURING THE FISCAL YEAR. PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING - (1) YOUNG ARTIST ACADEMY WHERE FIRST THORUGH EIGHTH GRADERS ARE PROVIDED WITH AN INTENSE MUSIC CURRICULUM ON VARIOUS INSTRUMENTS, (2)OCTHESTRAL PROGRAMS THROUGH THROUGH FIVE DIFFERENT ORCHESTRAS FOR FIRST THROUGH EIGHTH GRADERS. NUMEROUS CONCERTS ARE GIVEN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND THE SCHEDULE IS AVAILABLE ON THE GNOYO WEBSITE. THERE ARE SYMPHONY, PHILHARMONICA, AND SINFONIA ORCHESTAS ON BOTH THE NORTHSHORE AND SOUTHSHORE OF LAKE PONTCHARTAIN, (3)ENDANGERED INSTRUMENTS PROGRAM IS OPEN TO FIRST TO EIGHTH GRADERS AND MENTORS THEM ON INSTRUMENTS THAT ARE NO LONGER PLAYED INCLUDING VIOLA, CELLO, STRING BASS, FRENCH HORN BASSOON AND OBOE, (4)CHAMBER MUSIC ENSEMBLES ALLOWS SMALL GROUPS OF CHILD MUSICIANS TO PLAY WEEKLY. GNOYO PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL TEACHER TO MENTOR PARTICPANTS, (5)NEW ORLEANS BOYS CHOIR OFFERS BOYS AGES 6 TO 19 THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICPATE. THE NOBC ENRICHES BOYS LIVES THORUGH INTENSE VOCAL TRAINING, (6)SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL IS A WEEK LONG ALL DAY CAMP WHERE YOUNG MUSICIANS ARE TAUGHT MENTORED AND TRAINED ON MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, (7)SUMMER ORCHESTRAS- FOR EIGHT WEEKS IN THE SUMMER OF EACH YEAR YOUNG MUSICIANS ARE OPEN TO PARTICPATE IN SUMMER ORCHESTRAS AND NO AUDITION IS NECESSARY. THE PROGRAM IS OPEN TO ALL AND IS A MENTORING PROGRAM TO ENCOURAGE YOUNG MUSICIANS. (8) SIGHT READING COLLABORATIVE IS A PROGRAM DONE IN CONJUNCITON WITH METRO AREA PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO TEACH SIGHT MUSIC READING TO YOUNG MUSICIANS. (9)GNOYO RETREAT IS GENERALLY HELD IN THE FALL OF EACH YEAR AND IS AN INTENSE WEEKEND TRAINING SESSION HELD AT THE SOLOMON EPISCOPAL CONFERENCE CENTER IN LORANGER, LA AND IS A WEEKEND OF TRAINING , TEAM BUILDING AND MUSIC ACTIVITIES AND (10) CONCERTO COMPETITION IS AN ANNUAL MUSIC COMPETITION HELD BY GNOYO WHERE THE BEST AND THE BRIGHTEST ARE AWARDED FOR THEIR EFFORTS. GNOYO INSPIRES YOUNG MUSICIANS THROUGH ENGAGING AND REWARDING ARCHESTRAL MUSICAL EXPERIENCES AND THE PROMOTION OF PUBLIC INTEREST IN CLASSICAL AND SYMPHONIC MUSIC.
