STATEWIDE DISTRIBUTION OF TIMELY PUBLIC SERVICE NEWS COLUMNS RELATING TO CRIME PREVENTION AND PUBLIC SAFETY. AS WELL AS, STATEWIDE DISTRIBUTION OF SPECIAL SEASONAL PUBLIC SAFETY CAMPAIGNS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR INCLUDING THE SHERIFFS SUMMER SAFETY CAMPAIGN, BACK TO SCHOOL CAMPAIGN, AND HOLIDAY SAFETY CAMPAIGN.
LOUISIANA HONORARY MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM: SIXTY-FOUR SHERIFFS CURRENTLY PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM, WHICH IS SUPPORTED BY PRIVATE CIITZENS WHO HAVE CHOSEN TO DEMONSTRATE THEIR SUPPORT FOR GOOD LAW ENFORCEMENT BY JOINING FORCES WITH THEIR LOCAL SHERIFFS AND BECOMING MEMBERS OF THE PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM IS DEDICATED TO PROMOTING PEACE AND PUBLIC SAFETY OF THE PEOPLE OF LOUISIANA.
LOUISIANA SHERIFFS EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAML SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED TO COLLEGE BOUND GRAUDATING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHERE THE SHERIFFS ARE MEMBERS OF THE LOUISIANA SHERIFFS HONORARY MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM. THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO WORTHY LOUISIANA STUDENTS IN FUTHERING THEIR EDUCATION AND TRAINING WITH RESOURCES MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE PROGRAM.
