TO STRENGTHEN COLORADO COMMUNITIES BY BRINGING PEOPLE, INFORMATION AND RESOURCES TOGETHER. OUR ACTIVITIES FOCUS ON EDUCATION AND TRAINING, LEARNING NETWORKS AND ADVOCACY WITH THE OVERALL AIM OF LEADING AND SERVING THE DIVERSE AND DYNAMIC PHILANTHROPIC SECTOR THAT SUPPORTS NONPROFITS AND COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT COLORADO.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2021 AT THE 50-YEAR MARK:- CREATED DOZENS OF SPACES FOR MEMBERS TO MEET VIRTUALLY TO SHARE AND LEARN ABOUT A BROAD RANGE OF ISSUES: ADVOCACY, RURAL BROADBAND, REFUGEES AND IMMIGRATION, CLIMATE AND DISASTER RESILIENCE, VACCINE ACCESS, EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, VIOLENCE AND HATE, IMPACT INVESTING, PANDEMIC ISSUES, RACIAL EQUITY, FEDERAL RELIEF FUNDING, COMMUNITY NEWS, ARTS AND CULTURE, CYBERSECURITY, WORKPLACE POLICIES, MENTAL HEALTH AND A LOT MORE. - EMBARKED ON FIRST YEAR OF NEW STRATEGIC ROADMAP, HIRING NEW DIRECTOR OF EQUITY AND IMPACT IN MARCH TO CO-LEAD THE IMPLEMENTATION OF OUR TWO-YEAR EQUITY FRAMEWORK GUIDING BOTH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ACTIVITIES.- LAUNCHED THE EARLY STAGES OF A CAPACITY-BUILDING CAMPAIGN WITH A LEAD GIFT AND A MATCHING CHALLENGE GRANT THAT HAS ALLOWED US TO BEGIN INVESTING IN ADDITIONAL STAFF AND RESOURCES TO HELP US ACTIVELY LEAD AND SERVE THE FIELD OF PHILANTHROPY IN COLORADO.- FOR THE THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR, OUR DIRECTOR OF RURAL AND STATEWIDE NETWORKS CONTINUED TO WORK WITH A CORE GROUP OF FUNDERS ON LEARNING EXCHANGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR COLLABORATION IN DIVERSE REGIONS ACROSS RURAL COLORADO. - FORMALIZED PARTNERSHIP WITH ABFE TO OFFER REGULAR TRAINING SESSIONS FOR BOTH FOUNDATION/FUNDER STAFF AND TRUSTEES AND COLLABORATED WITH TRUST-BASED PHILANTHROPY PROJECT TO PRESENT FOUR WEBINARS (ONE IN SPRING AND THREE-PART SUMMER SERIES) TO A LARGE COHORT OF PHILANTHROPY COLORADO MEMBERS.- DEVELOPED EQUITY LENS GUIDELINES AND METRICS FOR ALL PROGRAMS AND PEER GROUPS, RFP PROCESS FOR HIRING VENDORS, WITH WORK UNDER WAY ON BOARD ASSESSMENTS, PERFORMANCE REVIEWS, EMPLOYEE MANUAL AND RELATED RESOURCES FOR MEMBERS, AS WELL AS PLANS TO ESTABLISH EQUITY COMMITTEE INCLUDING BOARD AND MEMBER REPRESENTATIVES.- ADDED SEVERAL NEW MEMBERS AND EXPECT TO HAVE ANOTHER NEW RECORD NUMBER OF MEMBERS BY YEAR-END.- HOSTED HEATHER MCGHEE, AUTHOR OF THE SUM OF US: WHAT RACISM COSTS EVERYONE AND HOW WE CAN PROSPER TOGETHER, AT 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION AT DENVER ART MUSEUM.
