TO STRENGTHEN UNDERSERVED, DIVERSE COMMUNITIES THROUGH LEADERSHIP, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION, COMMUNITY ECONOMIC AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, ALONG WITH CULTURAL DIPLOMACY PROGRAMS THAT BUILD CAPACITY WITHIN THE STATE'S NEXT GENERATION OF ASIAN AMERICAN PACIFIC ISLANDER LEADERS' ETHNIC-BASED GROWER ASSOCIATIONS, COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE AND FAITH-BASED ORGANIZATIONS, BUSINESS AND CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS WHO RELFECT THE DIVERSE TAPESTRY OF CALIFORNIA'S ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER COMMUNITY.

THE CATALYST LEADERSHIP PROGRAM, NOW IN ITS 17TH YEAR, PROVIDED 25 INDIVIDUALS WITH A 9-MONTH, HANDS-ON LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM DESIGNED TO DEVELOP THE MANAGEMENT SKILLS OF DIVERSE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS AND EMERGING LEADERS. PARTICIPANTS DEVELOP AN INDIVIDUAL LEADERSHIP PLAN; JOIN COMMUNITY, SOCIAL SERVICE OR PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS; AND MEET WITH COMMUNITY LEADERS IN ORDER TO FORGE KEY RELATIONSHIPS WITHIN THE STATE. OVER 200 INDIVUDLAS HAVE GRADUATED FROM THE CATALYST LEADERSHIP PROGRAM.THE FOUNDATION ALSO CONTINUED THE AAPI LIFT PROGRAM IN 2023. AAPI LIFT IS A LEADERSHIP PROGRAM TO PROMOTE ASIAN AMERICAN PACIFIC ISLANDERS (AAPI) IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR WHO ARE INTERESTED IN ENTERING PUBLIC SERVICE. THE PROGRAM IS A 6-MONTH TRAINING AND MENTORSHIP PROGRAM DELIVERED BY AAPI POLITICAL PROFESSIONALS THAT OFFERS PRACTICAL INSIGHTS ABOUT SETTING POLICY, BUILDING COALITIONS, COMMUNICATING YOUR AGENDA, RUNNING WINNING CAMPAIGNS, AND GOVERNING EFFECTIVELY.IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDATION CONTINUED ITS "NETGEN EMPOWER U" PROGRAM IN 2023. NEXTGEN EMPOWER U IS A 3-MONTH PROGRAM DESIGNED TO EMPOWER THE NEXT GENERATION OF AAPI TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN MANY FACETS OF THEIR LIVES. THE PROGRAM HELPS PARTICIPANTS DISCOVER AND DEFINE THEIR OWN PERSONAL DEFINITION OF LIFE SUCCESS, TOUCHING ON TOPICS SUCH AS RELATIONSHIP BUILDING, COMMUNICATION, EDUCATION, CAREER DEVELOPMENT, AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT.
KITCHEN INNOVATION ELECTRICAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM,CONNECTING POINT EVENTS, "NODE" VIRTUAL OPERATIONS, ETC.
THE FOUNDATION PARTICIPATED IN THE "STOP THE HATE" PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SIERRA HEALTH FOUNDATION AND THE CALIFORNIA DEPT OF SOCIAL SERVICES TO PROTECT AAPI COMMUNITIES FROM HATE CRIMES. THE PROGRAM ALSO ASSISTS THE AAPI BUSINESS COMMUNITY PREVENT AND OVERCOME AAPI HATE.THE FOUNDATION WAS ALSO AWARDED A GRANT TO ASSIST WITH WORK ON A REGIONAL IMMIGRATION PLAN, TO UNDERSTAND THE CURRENT STATE OF IMMIGRATION IN CALIFORNIA, ASSIST WITH IMMIGRATION REFORM, AND HELP INTEGRATE EFFORTS.
THE FOUNDATION CONTINUES TO SUPPORT STATE-WIDE EFFORTS OF CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE WITH THEIR WORK TO MAINTAIN AND EXPAND BUSINESS CENTERS PROVIDING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND BUSINESS SERVICES TO MINORITY BUINESS ENTERPRISES, AS WELL AS ASSISTING WITH FINANCING AND CONTRACT OPPORTUNITIES. THE FOUNDATION ALSO SUPPORTED THEIR EFFORTS TO PROMOTE DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION TO ADVANCE OPPORTUNITES AND ENSURE INVESTMENTS IN CALIFORNIA'S AAPI AND DIVERSE COMMUNITIES.
