TO PROMOTE SOCIAL WELFARE BY EDUCATING THE PUBLIC AND ADVOCATING ON ISSUES CONCERNING ENHANCEMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY; PROMOTION OF MEASURES TO REDUCE CRIME; WORK WITH AT-RISK YOUTH TO MINIMIZE THEIR NEGATIVE ASSOCIATION WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT.

PARTICIPATED AND FOSTERED CONVERSATIONS AND WORKGROUPS WITH LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AND COMMUNITY BASED GROUPS ON THE ISSUES OF CORRECTIONAL REFORM AND RE-ENTRY. A WORKING RELATIONSHIP AND PARTNERSHIP WITH NORTHERN CALIFORNIA LAW ENFORCEMENT WORK GROUP WAS ESTABLISHED FOR FOSTERING A STRONG COMMUNITY BASED PUBLIC-POLICE EXCHANGE PROGRAM. ADDITIONAL COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES INCLUDED INTRODUCING OUR PROGRAM GOALS AND MISSIONS TO ADVOCACY GROUPS FOR THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN. THE INDEPENDENT VOTER PROJECT WAS ALSO CONTINUED, WHICH INCLUDES TEEN VOTER EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND VOTER OUTREACH.
THE WORK GROUPS PROJECT IS DEDICATED TO THE NEEDS AND INTERESTS OF TEENS TO PROMOTE INCREASED USE OF PRODUCTIVE OUTLETS IN A SAFE GATHERING PLACE, IMPROVE THEIR RISK-AVOIDANCE SKILLS AND HAVE INCREASED LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES TO DEVELOP PERSONAL COMPETENCIES THROUGH PARTICIPATION IN THE ARTS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES. IN ADDITION, MENTORING OPPORTUNITIES FOR NEW OFFICERS IN CALIFORNIANS FOR SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS PROVIDED OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE FROM AT-RISK ENVIRONMENTS TO PARTICIPATE WITH OFFICERS IN ACTIVITIES AND OUTINGS BEYOND NORMAL COMMUNITY SETTINGS, WITH THE INTENT OF FOSTERING AND INSTILLING CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY.
EXPANDED OFFICER NETWORK AND RELATIONSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY-BASED PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION PROGRAMS AIMED AT ENDING CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT, DRUG USE, GANGS, UNEMPLOYMENT AND VIOLENCE.
CONDUCTED AN INTERN PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES SENIOR AND POST HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS THAT MAY HAVE AN INTEREST IN CHILD ADVOCACY SPECIFICALLY IN THE AREA OF LEGISLATIVE/POLITICAL ADMINISTRATION. THE PROGRAM IS STRUCTURED TO CREATE A MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL WORK ENVIRONMENT THAT WILL ALLOW YOUNG PEOPLE THE OPPORTUNITY TO APPLY, COMPARE AND TRANSITION ACADEMIC STUDY VERSUS EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING AND ITS ULTIMATE TRANSITION INTO REAL WORLD PRACTICAL IMPLEMENTATION. THIS CREATES TESTED AND MARKETABLE WORK EXPERIENCE WHILE ALSO PROVIDING THE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE STUDENT TO FORM AND FOSTER PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS NETWORKS.
