THE MISSION OF ADOPT A FAMILY IS TO PREVENT HOMELESSNESS AND PROVIDE STABILITY FOR FAMILIES IN NEED. ADOPT A FAMILY PROVIDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND CASE MANAGEMENT SUPPORT TO LOW-INCOME FAMILIES IN ALL GEOGRAPHIC AREAS OF MARIN. OUR CLIENT POPULATION INCLUDES FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN UNDER 18 LIVING IN THE HOME. WE PROVIDE SHORT-TERM FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR RENT, SECURITY DEPOSITS, FOOD, UTILITIES AND AUTO REPAIR. WE DETERMINE THE TYPE, LEVEL AND EXTENT OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH ASSESSMENT, CASE MANAGEMENT AND APPROPRIATE INFORMATION AND REFERRAL. PARENTS MEET WITH RESOURCE COUNSELORS PRIOR TO PROVISION OF ASSISTANCE, EITHER IN THE OFFICE OR ON HOME VISITS. ALL MONEY IS PAID TO SERVICE PROVIDERS AND LANDLORDS, AND NOT DIRECTLY TO CLIENTS.
