OUR MISSION IS TO CONSTRUCT THE IMPORTANCE OF CLIMATE CHANGE AS A THREAT MULTIPLIER TO PACIFIC ISLANDS. OUR NETWORK SEEKS TO BUILD URGENCY AND COHESION THROUGH LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND CREATE A MODEL THAT IS RESILIENT IN THE FACE OF CLIMATE CHANGE. WE EXIST AS A LOCAL HUB FOR CLIMATE INJUSTICE SHEDDING LIGHT ON THE MANY PUBLIC POLICY ISSUES AFFECTING OUR COMMUNITY SUCH AS EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND DISASTER RESPONSE FOOD SECURITY EXTREME HEAT AND TROPICAL DISEASES. THE ORGANIZATION'S MOST SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES DURING 2022 INCLUDE ADVOCACY OUTREACH AND CULTURAL WORK.

UNITED FRONTLINE TABLE PROGRAM: UNITED FRONTLINE TABLE REGRANTED $40,000 IN UNRESTRICTED FUNDS TO THE ORGANIZATION TO CARRY OUT WORK RELATED TO THE ORGANIZATION'S ENERGY DEMOCRACY AND COOPERATIVES INITIATIVES. THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAM WAS TO RESOURCE OUR STAFF TO BE ABLE TO DO RESEARCH WRITING AND NETWORKING WIT PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY AND ACROSS THE US TO DEVELOP RELATIONSHIPS TO DEEPEN THIS WORK.
OUR POWER COMMUNITY: THE PURPOSE OF THE OUR POWER COMMUNITY PROGRAM IS TO BUILD OUT GRASSROOTS INFRASTRUCTURE IN GUAM AND THE MARIANAS. ACTIVITIES RELATED TO THIS PROJECT INCLUDE RESOURCING OUR STAFF TO BE ABLE TO BUILD AND HOLD RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER PEOPLE IN OUR REGION WHO CAN HELP ADVANCE CLIMATE JUSTICE.
EMERGENT FUND PROVIDED THE ORGANIZATION WITH FUNDS TO HOLD A GRASSROOTS GATHERING OF INDIGENOUS PACIFIC ISLANDERS TO DEEPEN RELATIONS AND ADVANCE SOCIAL JUSTICE MOVEMENTS. THE ORGANIZATION BROUGHT TOGETHER 50 PEOPLE FROM GUAM AND THE MARIANA ISLANDS FOR A HIGHLY INTERACTIVE 3 DAY CONFERENCE ANCHORED IN THE POPULAR EDUCATION CURRICULA "BEING THE CHANGE: AN INTRODUCTION TO THE JUST TRANSITION". THE PURPOSE OF THIS TRAINING WAS TO DEEPEN OUR RELATIONSHIPS WITH PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS WHILE CONTINUING TO WORK ON INNOVATE COMMUNITY BASED SOLUTIONS TO THE CLIMATE CRISIS WITHIN OUR REGION.
