BESIDES FREE SPAY AND NEUTER WE SUPPLEMENT HIGH SURGERY COSTS AND EDUCATE ON BASIC ANIMAL CARE NEED FOR HW PREVENTION, FLEA CONTROL, VACCINATIONS AND NEED FOR TLC FOR ALL PETS WE ALSO ASSIST WITH BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS SO THAT PETS ARE NOT RELINQUISHED TO THE ANIMAL SHELTER FOR MINOR PREVENTABLE NUISANCE BEHAVIOR THAT CAN BE EASILY ADJUSTED THROUGH PROPER EDUCATION. LUCKY PAWS FOUNDATION, THROUGH OUR PROGRAMS LEADS THE WAY FOR A CARING AND COMPASSIONATE COMMUNITY BY HUMANELY ADDRESSING THE SURPLUS OF ANIMALS THROUGH SPAY NEUTER IN LIEU OF SENSELESS KILLING. ANIMALS SPAYED AND NEUTERED DURING THE YEAR WAS 964.
CAT CAFE PROGRAM - PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO THE COMMUNITY TO MANAGE STRAY, ABANDONED COLONY CATS IN A HUMANE AND EFFECTIVE MANNER THROUGH TNR TRAP - NEUTER AND RETURNTHIS EFFECTIVE INTERNATIONAL MEANS OF CURBING THE OVERPOPULATION IS ENDORSED BY EVERY ANIMAL WELFARE ORGANIZATION AS A NON-LETHAL MEANS OF OVERPOPULATION CONTROL. WE PROVIDE TRAPS AND TRAPPING ASSISTANCE AND FREE SPAY AND NEUTER AS WELL AS GUIDANCE ON HOW TO MANAGE COLONIES FEED, WATER AND MEDICAL NEEDS CATS WHO WOULD OTHERWISE ROAM THE ISLAND AND CREATE A HEALTH AND NUISANCE PROBLEM ARE TRAPPED TESTED FOR DISEASE AND RETURNED BACK TO THEIR ENVIRONMENT. THE PROGRAM WORKS WITH RESORTS, BUSINESSES AND COLONY CARETAKERS TO IMPLEMENT AND TEACH A LONG TERM SOLUTION TO A LONG STANDING COMMUNITY PROBLEM.
THE DOG BUDDY PROGRAM WAS A PILOT PROGRAM AIMED AT ENCHANING THE LIVES AND SOCIALIZING THE SHELTER DOGS DOG SOCIALIZATION IS A MUCH NEEDED PROCESS OF EXPOSING DOGS TO NEW PLACES, PEOPLE, SITUATIONS, EXPERIENCES, AND THINGS THAT HELP THEM UNDERSTAND MORE ABOUT THE EXTERNAL WORLD AND MAKE THEM MORE ADOPTABLE. BY FAMILIARISING THEM, WE HELPED THEM DEVELOP POSITIVE BEHAVIORS AND ALSO GIVE THEM THE CONFIDENCE TO DEAL WITH ANYTHING THAT COMES THEIR WAY. JUST LIKE HUMANS, DOGS TOO NEED A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF ACTIVE ENGAGEMENT TO LEAD A MENTALLY HEALTHY LIFE. DOGS NEED EXPOSURE TO OTHER PEOPLE AND PETS TO KEEP THEM MENTALLY STIMULATED. SOCIALIZATION HELPS GET RID OF THE MENTAL ISSUES LIKE DEPRESSION WHICH OCCURS WHEN DOGS ARE INCARCERATED AND SUBJET TO THE MONOTONY OF A SHELTER LIFE. BY EXPLORING NEW PLACES AND SPENDING TIME WITH DIFFERENT PEOPLE, THE PSYCHOLOGICAL NEEDS OF THE DOG ARE FULFILLED AND IT KEEPS HIS OVERALL LIFE ENRICHED. BUDDY PROGRAM WAS SUCCESSFUL IN CREATING MORE ADOPTABLE PETS AND INCREASE THE ADOPTION RATE
