PROYECTO SIEMBRA - THROUGH THE ACTIVITIES OF THE PROGRAM, 15 PERSONS OFFER COMMUNITY SERVICE RELATED TO PLANTING AND CREATING AND COMMUNITY GARDENS AND IN TURN TAKE DIFFERENT WORKSHOPS OR TRAININGS THAT IN- CREASE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND REINFORCE SERVICES. THEY ALSO RECEIVE EMO- TIONAL SUPPORT, WORK WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF SELF-ESTEEM AND ARE ACQUIRING TOOLS TO FACE AND MANAGE THE CHALLENGES OF THEIR DAILY LIFE. THE PROJECT IS A KEY PIECE IN EDUCATING THE COMMUNITY ABOUT THE BENE- FIT OF TRADITIONAL AND URBAN AGRICULTURE AND AGROECOLOGY. AS PART OF THIS PROJECT, THE SIEMBRA CLUB WAS CREATED, WHICH ENCOURAGE CHILDREN TO HAVE A CLOSER RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LAND. THE PROGRAM IS PROVIDED IN ALLIANCE WITH AMERICORPS.


PROYECTO DE ARTE SOLIDARIO - ITS GENERAL OBJECTIVE IS TO PROMOTE GOOD ARTS EDUCATION PRACTICES THAT ALLOW THE EXERCISE OF CITIZENSHIP IN THE FORMAL AND NON-FORMAL EDUCATION IN THE ARTS AND MAKE THEM ACCESSIBLE TO ALL INTERESTED IN THE MUNICIPALITY ISLAND OF CULEBRA. WE SEEK TO PROMOTE SUSTAINABILITY BOTH IN KNOWLEDGE AND IN THE DESIGN OF OUR PRO- JECTS ENCOURAGING THE USE OF ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY MATERIALS. IT HAS THE FACE-TO-FACE AND ROOT MODALITY FROM THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC WE ALSO MOVED TO THE VIRTUAL MODALITY. THROUGH THE PROGRAM, MULTIPLES WORKSHOPS WERE OFFERED ON ART. MORE THAN 50 PEOPLE WERE IMPACTED AND ABOUT 15 WOMEN HAVE DECIDED TO CONTINUE TO BECOME ARTISANS AND EVEN- TUALLY SET UP THEIR OWN SOLIDARITY ART MICRO-BUSINESS.


PROYECTO ECOKIT(TM) - 10 YOUNG PEOPLE WERE TRAINED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF 4 WOODEN HOUSES THAT SERVE AS LABORATORY FOR YOUNG CHILDREN IN WHICH THEY EXPERIENCED SOWING, HARVESTING, IRRIGATION IRRIGATION SYS- TEMS AND RENEWABLE ENERGY, AMONG OTHERS. TWO OF THESE GREENHOUSES WERE INSTALLED IN A COMMUNITY ECOLOGICAL SCHOOL IN ORDER TO FUNCTION AS NURSERIES WITH RAINWATER AND RENEWABLE ENERGY. THE ECOKIT PROMOTES PLAY RELATED TO PLANTING AND NATURE, EXPOSURE TO EXPERIMENTATION, SELF EXPERIMENTATION, SELF-SUSTAINABILITY IN THE WATER COLLECTION AND AGRO-ECOLOGICAL SOWING.
