DRUG FREE COMMUNITY EAST BALTIMORE MARYLAND: THE EAST BALTIMORE DFC DEVELOPED AND IMPLEMENTED A PREVENTION MESSAGING CAMPAIGN AS A YOUTH SUBSTANCE USE PREVENTION MOVEMENT THROUGHOUT BALTIMORE CITY #WEAIN'TBLIGHTWEBLOOM. THE CREATION OF THIS PREVENTION MESSAGING CAMPAIGN HAS BEEN SHARED WITH OTHER DFC'S AROUND THE COUNTRY. ADDITIONALLY, THE COALITION HAS EXPANDED ITS REACH FROM ONE NEIGHBORHOOD TO A CITY WIDE REACH. THE COALITION HAS CREATED SEVERAL UNIQUE SOCIAL MARKETING PREVENTION MESSAGES SUCH AS SIPPIN STUPID AND BARF FOCUSED ON YOUTH ALCOHOL PREVENTION.
NAADPC RECEIVES GRANT FUNDING ANNUALLY, FROM THE HHS SAMSHA DIVISION THESE FUNDS ARE RECEIVED ANNUALLY AS A GRANT FOR PROGRAM SERVICES IN LIFE STYLE GROWTH PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO ASSIST YOUNG ADULTS INTO MATURITY AND PRODUCTIVE ADULTHOOD.
THIS PROGRAM IS A MULTIYEAR PROGRAM TO DEVELOPE AND IMPLEMENT AN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM TO DEMONSTRATE THE INVOLVEMENT OF AMERICAN CITIZENS IN THE ANTI APARTHID MOVEMENT AGAINST THIS LIFE STYLE OPRESSION IN SOUTH AFRICA. THE PROGRAM INVOLVES INFORMING THE PUBLIC IN AMERICA AND SOUTH AFRICA ABOUT THE EFFORTS OF US CITIZENS TO END THIS OPPRESSIVE FORM OF GOVERNMENT THIS IS A MULTI-YEAR EFFORT, AND FUNDS ARE TAKEN INTO GRANT INCOME AS EARNED BY APPROVED PROGRAM EXPENSES.
