THE WORLD AFFAIRS COUNCIL OF THE MID-HUDSON VALLEY IS A NON-PARTISAN FORUM FOR CITIZEN PARTICIPATION IN WORLD AFFAIRS. ITS MISSION IS TO RAISE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE ISSUES THAT UNITE AND DIVIDE NATIONS, PEOPLE, AND MAJOR FAITH COMMUNITIES, AND TO STIMULATE INTEREST IN A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF IMPORTANT WORLD AFFAIRS. WE ENCOURAGE INFORMED EXPLORATION OF WORLD ISSUES AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP AND CONNECTIONS TO THE MID-HUDSON VALLEY REGION. THE COUNCIL OFFERS INFORMATION ABOUT OUR INCREASINGLY COMPLEX WORLD THROUGH PUBLIC LECTURES, PANELS AND DEBATES, AND EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL PROGRAMS. THE COUNCIL ALSO SPONSORS PROGRAMS AND COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS TO REACH HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS. THE COUNCIL SEEKS OUT PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS TO CO-HOST EVENTS.
