THIS MARKS THE 3RD HIGHEST NUMBER OF SEA TURTLES CAPTURED AT THIS SITE OVER THE PAST 25 YEARS. IRG BIOLOGISTS ALSO SUCCESSFULLY CAPTURED AND RELEASED AN ADULT MANATEE AND 13 SMALL TOOTH SAWFISH IN 2023 WITH AID FROM FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION PERSONNEL AND HARBOR BRANCH OCEANOGRAPHIC INSTITUTE. IN ADDITION TO CAPTURING AND PROVIDING IMPORTANT DEMOGRAPHIC DATA TO STATE AND FEDERAL WILDLIFE AGENCIES IRG ALSO CONDUCTED SEA TURTLE NESTING SURVEYS ON 11 MILES OF BEACH ON HUTCHINSON ISLAND.
