PARENTING EDUCATION PROGRAM: THIS PROGRAM ACHIEVED 100% OF ITS OUTCOME GOALS, DOCUMENTING THAT IT POSITIVELY INFLUENCED TARGETS LINKED BY RESEARCH TO REDUCED ABUSE AND NEGLECT OF CHILDREN. FORTY CARROTS BELIEVES THAT ALL FAMILIES SHOULD HAVE ACCESS TO PARENTING EDUCATION, AND STRIVES TO MAKE APPROPRIATE SERVICES AVAILABLE REGARDLESS OF INCOME. THEREFORE, FORTY CARROTS WAS PLEASED TO SERVE 93% OF CLIENTS IN THIS PROGRAM AT NO CHARGE. TEEN PARENTS, COURT-ORDERED PARENTS, PREGNANT WOMEN RECOVERING FROM ADDICTIONS, AND HOMELESS MOTHERS ARE JUST SOME OF THE CLIENTS WHO RECEIVED ESSENTIAL INFORMATION, SKILLS AND SUPPORT WEEKLY THROUGH THIS VITAL PROGRAM.
40 CARROTS PRESCHOOL:THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG CHILDREN (NAEYC) ACCREDITED PRESCHOOL PARTNERS WITH FAMILIES TO HELP PREPARE YOUNG CHILDREN FOR SUCCESS IN SCHOOL AND IN LIFE. KNOWN FOR ITS DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE APPROACH TO TEACHING, FORTY CARROTS UNDERSTANDS THAT CHILDREN DEVELOP IN MANY WAYS - PHYSICALLY, SOCIALLY, EMOTIONALLY, IN LANGUAGE AND LITERACY, AND IN THINKING (COGNITIVE) SKILLS. THROUGH LESSON PLANS THAT ENCOURAGE CHILDREN TO LEARN THROUGH EXPLORATION AND DISCOVERY, TEACHERS SUPPORT CHILDREN THROUGH SMALL AND LARGE GROUP EXPERIENCES THAT BUILD ON CHILDREN'S LEARNING. AT LEAST 90% OF PRESCHOOL CHILDREN THAT COMPLETE A MINIMUM OF ONE SCHOOL YEAR AT FORTY CARROTS WILL MEET OR EXCEED THE FLORIDA SCHOOL READINESS PERFORMANCE STANDARDS FOR THEIR AGE GROUP, ALLOWING YOUNG STUDENTS TO GRADUATE WITH THE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE NECESSARY FOR SUCCESS IN KINDERGARTEN AND IN LIFE. IN THE 2021-2022 YEAR, 20% OF STUDENTS RECEIVED SCHOLARSHIPS TOTALLING $159,950.
MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM: THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES A WIDE RANGE OF MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES WITH INDIVIDUAL, GROUP, AND FAMILY THERAPY AT FORTY CARROTS AND AT PARTNER LOCATIONS, MAKING SERVICES EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE FOR THESE TARGET POPULATIONS: STUDENTS AT TITLE 1 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, MOTHERS AND CHILDREN SEEKING SHELTER AS A RESULT OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, PARENTS TRANSITIONING FROM HOMELESSNESS, SURVIVORS OF SEX AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING, ANY CHILD/FAMILY WITH A SELF-IDENTIFIED MENTAL HEALTH CONCERN. 97% OF CLIENTS RECEIVE SERVICES AT NO OR LOW COST AND THE NUMBER OF INDIVIDUAL THERAPY SESSIONS HAVE INCREASED BY 23% FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR
