Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

TO TREAT, CARE FOR, AND FIND LOVING FOREVER HOMES FOR THE LOST, ABANDONED, AND ABUSED DOGS OF LELAND AND UNINCORPORATED WASHINGTON COUNTY, MS THAT COME INTO THE LELAND WASHINGTON COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER. TO FINANCIALLY ASSIST LOW INCOME AREA RESIDENTS WITH LOW COST SPAYS AND NEUTERS.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

ARRF TOOK OVER 240 DOGS INTO OUR SMALL SHELTER DURING 2023, WITH VARYING DEGREES OF HEALTH PROBLEMS. WE CARED FOR, GOT ALL REQUIRED VETTING FOR, AND PLACED 97% OF THESE DOGS INTO COMPATIBLE, LOVING, FOREVER HOMES. THE REMAINING 3% WERE DOGS THAT WERE TOO SICK TO SAVE, AND THAT WAS AFTER EVERY ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO SAVE THEM. THIS IS MIRACULOUS, CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT, BEFORE ARRF GOT INVOLVED WITH THE "DOG POUND", MOST ALL OF THE DOGS WERE PULLED OUTSIDE OF THE SHELTER AND SHOT BY THE ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER. THERE WAS NO CARE FOR THE DOGS OR TRYING TO FIND LOVING HOMES. THE "DOG POUND" WAS A DEAD-END STREET FOR THESE WONDERFUL CREATURES THAT WERE THERE THROUGH NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE, WE ALSO ENGAGE A TRAINER TO WORK WITH THOSE DOGS THAT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO PLACE OTHERWISE. ARRF IS AN ALL VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION WITH A SMALL ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP THAT WORKS TIRELESSLY TO ACCOMPLISH OUR GOALS.

THESE EXPENDITURES ARE FOR THE OPERATION OF THE SHELTER.

TRANSPORTING ALL ADOPTED DOGS TO SISTER RESCUES OR LOCATION OF TRANSPORT VEHICLE.

PROVIDE A TRAINER FOR THOSE DOGS THAT NEED TO LEARN MANNERS IN ORDER TO MAKE THEM MORE ADOPTABLE.
