MISSISSIPPI OPERATION LIFESAVER PROVIDES PRESENTATIONS AND TRAINING AT NO COST THROUGHOUT THE STATE TO INCREASE TRAIN SAFETY AWARENESS. IN 2021, OVER EIGHTY-FIVE RAILROAD SAFETY FACILITATIONS REACHED APPROXIMATELY 1,954 MISSISSIPPIANS. AN ADDITIONAL 4,971 PEOPLE WERE MADE AWARE OF THE DANGERS ASSOCIATED WITH HIGHWAY-RAIL GRADE CROSSINGS AND TRESPASSING THROUGH VARIOUS MEASURES INCLUDING COMMUNITY POSITIVE ENFORCEMENT EVENTS, FARM SHOW EXHIBITS, AND ANNUAL FESTIVALS. ALSO, 207 ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS AND FIRST RESPONDERS COMPLETED THE RAILROAD INVESTIGATION AND SAFETY COURSE.
