MISSISSIPPI OPERATION LIFESAVER PROVIDES PRESENTATIONS AND TRAINING AT NO COST THROUGHOUT THE STATE TO INCREASE TRAIN SAFETY AWARENESS. IN 2022, OVER EIGHTY RAILROAD SAFETY FACILITATIONS REACHED APPROXIMATELY 1,728 MISSISSIPPIANS. AN ADDITIONAL 3,159 PEOPLE WERE MADE AWARE OF THE DANGERS ASSOCIATED WITH HIGHWAY-RAIL GRADE CROSSINGS AND TRESPASSING THROUGH VARIOUS MEASURES INCLUDING COMMUNITY POSITIVE ENFORCEMENT EVENTS AND ANNUAL FESTIVALS. ALSO, 184 ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS AND FIRST RESPONDERS COMPLETED THE RAILROAD INVESTIGATION AND SAFETY COURSE.
