ELDERLY & DISABLED SERVICES - PROVIDES SENIOR CENTERS, MEALS & TRANSPORTATION FOR APPROXIMATELY 800 INDIVIDUALS 60 YEARS AND OLDER THROUGH SUBGRANTS WITH AREA COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCIES. PROVIDES MEALS, HOMEMAKER AND OTHER SERVICES TO 1298 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH ITS MEDICAID WAIVER PROGRAMS.
REVOLVING LOAN FUND - PROGRAM PROVIDES FUNDS TO QUALIFIED BUSINESS FOR THE PURPOSE OF JOB CREATION/RETENTION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. INTEREST EARNED IS USED TO COVER COSTS OF ADMINISTERING THE PROGRAM. PRINCIPAL REPAYMENTS & REMAINING INTEREST INCREASE POOL OF LOANABLE FUNDS. APPROXIMATELY 134 LOANS WERE BEING SERVICED AS OF YEAR-END.
YOUTH SERVICES - PROVIDE TUITION ASSISTANCE AND OTHER SUPPORT FOR YOUTH. 312 SCHOLARSHIPS WERE GRANTED IN THE CURRENT YEAR.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - PROGRAMS INCLUDE PLANNING PROJECTS FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE SIX COUNTY AREA SERVED BY NMPDD. ALSO, PROVIDING COMPUTER SERVICES FOR PARTICIPATING COUNTIES, PREPARING GRANT APPLICATIONS AND ADMINISTERING APPROXIMATELY 21 CDBG PROJECTS FOR CITIES & COUNTIES.
