THE MISSION OF THE ALABAMA GROCERS ASSOCIATION IS TO PROMOTE AND SUPPORT THE GROWTH AND SUCCESS OF THE FOOD INDUSTRY IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA THROUGH ADVOCACY, EDUCATION, PUBLIC RELATIONS AND NETWORKING.

CONDUCT AN ANNUAL CONVENTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF EDUCATING ASSOCIATION MEMBERS ON CHANGES IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA. APPROXIMATELY 250 MEMBERS ATTENDED THE CURRENT YEAR CONVENTION TO HEAR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND OTHER SPEAKERS DISCUSS THE STATUS OF THE FOOD INDUSTRY IN ALABAMA AND OTHER TOPICS THAT ASSIST MEMBERS IN MANAGING THEIR BUSINESSES EFFECTIVELY.
REPRESENT THE INTERESTS OF THE ASSOCIATION MEMBERS BEFORE LEGISLATORS AND REGULATORY BODIES IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA.
INCREASE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF ALABAMA FOOD PRODUCTS AND INCREASE SALES OF THOSE PRODUCTS. THE ASSOCIATION HOSTS A WEBSITE WWW.EATATHOMEAALABAMA.COM TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC OF THE BENEFITS OF EATING AT HOME. IN ADDITION, THEY ASSIST WITH THE BUY ALABAMA'S BEST CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE ALABAMA PRODUCTS. THE CAMPAIGN RUNS ANNUALLY IN THE MONTHS OF MARCH AND SEPTEMBER IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ALABAMA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND INDUSTRIES AND THE ALABAMA FOOD MANUFACTURERS AND PRODUCERS TO INFORM AND EDUCATE CONSUMERS ON PRODUCTS MADE, PRODUCED, MANAUFACTURED AND/OR HEADQUARTERED IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA. RETAILERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CAMPAIGN WITH PRODUCT DISPLAYS, ADS, SIGNAGE, AND SPECIAL PROMOTIONS.
