PROVIDED INFORMATION TO MEMEBERS, POTENTIAL MEMEBERS, AND OTHER INTERESTED INDIVIDUALS ABOUT THE SOCIETY, ITS ACTIVITES, ITS ANNUAL ANITVIRAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE AND OTHER RELATED CONFERENCES THRU NEWSLETTERS, EMAILS, AND A WEBSITE. IN 2021 THERE WERE 362 MEMBERS FROM 29 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES (197 FROM THE UNITED STATES).
SPONSERED AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ANTIVIRAL RESEARCH THAT WAS HELD VIRTUAL DUE TO THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC. THE VIRTUAL CONFERENCE WAS ATTENDED BY 338 MEMBERS AND STUDENTS FROM 23 COUNTRIES (190 MEMBERS AND STUDENTS FROM THE UNITED STATES), MANY OF WHOM PRESENTED THEIR LATEST RESEARCH ON ANTIVIRALS. THERE WERE 32 INVITED SPEAKERS, 18 FROM THE US.
PROVIDED EDUCATION FOR YOUNG INVESTIGATORS BY AWARDING TRAVEL SUPPORT FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS, POST-DOCS, AND OTHER YOUNG INVESTIGATORS FROM MANY FOREIGN COUNTRIES TO ATTEND THE ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE. FOR 2021 DUE TO COVID 19 PANDEMITC WE PROVIDED A FEW GRANTS AND POSTER AWARDS ALSO, SPONSORED FOUR SCIENTISTS FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS TO ANTIVIRAL RESEARCH.
