THE PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE OF THE ASSOCIATION AS MENTIONED IN THE MISSION STATEMENT IS TO AID THE FOREST OWNERS IN THE AREA OF THE STATE OF ALABAMA WITH HELP IN THE PROMOTION, PROTECTION, AND REPRESENTATION OF THEIR INTERESTS OF THEIR FOREST LANDS. THE ASSOCIATION HAS DONE THIS BY PROVIDING REASONABLY PRICED GROUP INSURANCE POLICY COVERAGE FOR ITS MEMBERS FOR TIMBERLAND AND HUNTING LEASE LIABILITY PURPOSES. THEY ALSO PROVIDE A NEWSLETTER CALLED CAPITAL IDEAS PROVIDING LISTINGS OF NUMEROUS GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE ORGANIZATION BOOKS AND EDUCATIONAL BROCHURES ON FORESTRY RELATED TOPICS. THEY ALSO PROMOTE SEMINARS AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL TOOLS FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION.
