TASTE OF 4TH AVENUE JAZZ FESTIVAL GIVES THE CITIZENS OF BIRMINGHAM, AL AND JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL AN EDUCATIONAL OUTLOOK OF THE HISTORY AND TOUR OF THE FOURTH AVENUE BUSINESS DISTRICT AND FREE ADMISSION TO THE FESTIVAL. INCLUDED ARE JAZZ MUSIC PERFORMANCES, WHICH WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SUBJECT AREA IN THE 1930S, 1940S, AND EARLY 1950S.
MAIN STREET ACTIVITIES PROVIDES ENTERTAINMENT, FOOD AND EDUCATIONAL TOURS THE FIRST FRIDAY EACH MONTH AT HISTORIC KELLY INGRAM PARK, A PART OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS TRAIL, AND TO PROMOTE SHOPPING TOURS AND THE ENTERTAINMENT FACILITIES OF THE 4TH AVENUE BUSINESS DISTRICT.
TO PROVIDE AND PROMOTE THE HISTORY OF THE 4TH AVENUE BUSINESS DISTRICT TO THE STUDENTS OF THE BIRMINGHAM PUBLIC SCHOOLS, INCLUDING A JAZZ CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCE AT THE HISTORIC CARVER THEATER.
