THE AUBURN ALUMNI ASSOCIATION'S MISSION IS TO ENHANCE THE ENGAGEMENT AND CONNECTION OF ALL AUBURN UNIVERSITY ALUMNI AND FRIENDS, TO ADVANCE AUBURN UNIVERSITY BY ENGAGING OUR GLOBAL COMMUNITY AND CULTIVATING THEIR PASSION FOR AND LOYALTY TO THE UNIVERSITY. THE ASSOCIATION ACHIEVES THIS BY HOSTING DIVERSIFIED PROGRAMS INCLUDING REUNIONS, VOLUNTEER NETWORKS SUCH AS THE AUBURN CLUBS AND AFFILIATE PROGRAMS, AWARD RECOGNITION SUCH AS LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS, VIRTUAL SPEAKER SERIES AND TOURS FOR GROUPS OF ALUMNI AND FRIENDS THAT FOSTER A SENSE OF BELONGING TO THE "FAMILY" OF AUBURN UNIVERSITY. CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS RECEIVE A QUARTERLY ISSUE OF THE AUBURN MAGAZINE THAT KEEPS THEM INFORMED ABOUT MATTERS CONCERNING THE UNIVERSITY AND THE ALUMNI COMMUNITY, SUCH AS INFORMATION ON PROMINENT AND SUCCESSFUL INDIVIDUALS WITH AUBURN TIES. Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
AUBURN MAGAZINE - ESTABLISHED IN 1993 UPON DISCONTINUANCE OF THE ALUMNEWS NEWSPAPER. SINCE THAT TIME IT HAS WON NUMEROUS AWARDS. IT PROVIDES A VEHICLE TO ENHANCE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE UNIVERSITY AND ITS ALUMNI AND FRIENDS AND FOSTERS A SENSE OF IDENTITY AS AN "AUBURN PERSON." QUARTERLY ISSUES ARE MAILED TO ALL CONTRIBUTING ASSOCIATION MEMBERS. EACH ISSUE IS MAILED TO APPROXIMATELY 35,000 ALUMNI AND FRIENDS. ADDITIONALLY, ONE ISSUE IS MAILED TO ALL ALUMNI ON RECORD ONCE A YEAR; WHICH IS APPROXIMATELY 221,000.
AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS - THE AUBURN ALUMNI ASSOCIATION'S AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS PROGRAM PROVIDES INITIATIVES TO FOSTER GIVING FROM AUBURN ALUMNI AND FRIENDS TO AUBURN UNIVERSITY. THIS CREATES A LASTING TIE BETWEEN THE AUBURN ALUMNI ASSOCIATION MEMBER AND AUBURN UNIVERSITY. THROUGH VARIOUS EVENTS AND PROGRAMS, THE AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS PROGRAM CONTRIBUTED $99,081 TO AUBURN UNIVERSITY AND AUBURN UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION FOR SCHOLARSHIPS.
THE AUBURN CLUB AND AFFILIATES PROGRAM PROVIDES SUPPORT TO 133 INDIVIDUAL AUBURN CLUBS AND AFFILIATES AROUND THE GLOBE REPRESENTING OVER 21,000 ACTIVE MEMBERS. THE AUBURN CLUBS AND AFFILIATES SUPPORTED OVER 700 EVENTS. REPRESENTATIVES OF AUBURN ADVANCEMENT ATTEND AND ACCOMPANY SPEAKERS FROM ACADEMIC AND ATHLETIC PROGRAMS AT MORE THAN 30 ANNUAL MEETINGS. THE CLUBS AND AFFILIATES PROGRAM HOSTED AN ANNUAL CLUB LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE IN WHICH INCOMING OFFICERS AND LEADERS GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF THE ACTIVITIES OF THE ASOCIATION AND UNIVERSITY, OBTAIN TRAINING AND SKILLS IN MANAGEMENT OF THE LOCAL CLUB AND SHARE BEST PRACTICES WITH EACH OTHER ABOUT ACTIVITIES AT THE LOCAL CLUB LEVEL INSTITUTED FOR THE UNIVERSITY'S BENEFIT. LOCAL CLUBS AND AFFILIATES GENERATE 210 SCHOLARSHIPS ANNUALLY.
