UNIVERSITY CHAPTERS: WE ENGAGE WITH STUDENT CHAPTERS CONSISTENTLY WITH PRESENTATIONS, ACTIVITIES, AND GUIDANCE IN HOW THEY CAN BE INVOLVED LOCALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY TO MEET THE MISSION OF EWH. WE OFFER A DESIGN COMPETITION WHERE THEY SUBMIT PROJECTS THEY HAVE DESIGNED TO BE JUDGED BY ENGINEERS AND PROFESSIONALS AS WELL.
OUTREACH/KITS: STUDENT PROGRAMS ENGAGES THE NEXT GENERATION OF ENGINEERS THROUGH K-12 STEM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND MATH)CURRICULA, UNIVERSITY CHAPTERS, AND DESIGN ACTIVITIES TO IMPROVE GLOBAL HEALTH.
INSTITUTES AND VIRTUAL PROGRAMS: INSTITUTE PROGRAMS ENABLE STUDENT ENGINEERS TO LIVE IN A DEVELOPING COUNTRY, LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE, AND USE NEWLY ACQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS TO IMPROVE HEALTH CARE IN THE COMMUNITY. A TRAINING PERIOD IS FOLLOWED BY A PERIOD OF SERVICE IN A LOCAL HOSPITAL DURING WHICH PARTICIPANTS INTALL AND REPAIR MEDICAL EQUIPMENT, TRAIN THE STAFF, TAKE INVENTORY, SOLVE PROBELMS AND PERFORM OTHE ENGINEERING DUTIES. VIRTUAL PROGRAMS CATER TO OVER 300 STUDENTS TO CREATE A VIRTUAL INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE. STUDENTS MEET WITH FACILITATORS AND TEAM MEMBERS ACROSS THE WORLD TO LEARN ABOUT ENGINEERING DESIGN FOR LOW RESOURCE HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS.
