OPERATION HOME'S MISSION IS TO HELP PEOPLE REMAIN IN THEIR HOMES BY INCREASING SAFETY AND ACCESSIBILITY BY FACILITATING CRITICAL HOME REPAIRS IN CHARLESTON, DORCHESTER, AND BERKELEY COUNTIES IN THE SOUTH CAROLINA LOWCOUNTRY.

THE HOME REPAIR PROGRAM FACILITATES CRITICAL HOME REPAIRS AND HOME MODIFICATIONS TO LOW INCOME HOMEOWNERS. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS WITH AN EXPERIENCED NETWORK OF CONTRACTORS TO CARRY OUT THESE REPAIRS. ELIGIBLE HOMEOWNERS ARE REFERRED TO THIS PROGRAM FROM CHURCHES, HOSPITALS, COMMUNITY LEADERS, AND OTHER HUMAN SERVICE AGENCIES THROUGHOUT THE TRI-COUNTY AREA. TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE, HOMEOWNERS MUST RECEIVE A COMBINED MONTHLY INCOME THAT IS LESS THAN 50% OF THE AREA MEDIAN INCOME. HOUSEHOLDS HAVE EITHER A CHILD, A PERSON WITH A DISABILITY, OR AN OLDER ADULT. THE ORGANIZATION ASSISTED 50 HOMES AND BUILT 44 WHEELCHAIR RAMPS IN 2021 THROUGH THE HOME REPAIR PROGRAM.
THE HEAT AND COLD RELIEF PROGRAM PROVIDES AIR CONDITIONERS AND HEATERS TO PERSONS WHO HAVE NO OTHER WAY TO ADEQUATELY COOL OR HEAT THEIR HOMES. THE ORGANIZATION ASSISTED 550 FAMILIES IN 2021 THROUGH THE HEAT AND COLD RELIEF PROGRAM.
