CANCER AND PALLIATIVE CARE:MORRISTOWN-HAMBLEN HOSPITAL FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTED $7,600 TO PURCHASE A FIBER OPTIC RHINO-LARYNGOSCOPE WITH LED LIGHT SOURCE FOR THE CARE AND TREATMENT OF HEAD AND NECK CANCERS. JUST OVER $14,400 WAS DISTRIBUTED TO PROVIDE DIRECT ASSISTANCE TO PATIENTS UNDERGOING CANCER TREATMENT AT MORRISTOWN REGIONAL CANCER CENTER. THESE FUNDS PROVIDED FOR TRANSPORTATION, FOOD AND BASIC LIVING NEEDS, MEDICATIONS, AND SPECIALIZED SKIN CREAMS TO AID IN HEALING FOR RADIATION PATIENTS.


EMPLOYEE EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE:MORRISTOWN-HAMBLEN HOSPITAL FOUNDATION'S EMPLOYEE EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FUND PROVIDED CRISIS SUPPORT TO EMPLOYEES OF MORRISTOWN-HAMBLEN HEALTHCARE SYSTEM WHO WERE FACING UNEXPECTED FINANCIAL CRISES DUE TO FIRES, CAR ACCIDENTS, ILLNESSES, DEATHS, ETC. IN 2021, ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED FOR HOUSING, TRANSPORTATION, FUNERALS, UTILITIES, AND MEDICAL NEEDS.


LABOR AND DELIVERY:MORRISTOWN-HAMBLEN HOSPITAL FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTED THESE FUNDS TO SUPPORT OUTREACH EFFORTS OF THE LABOR AND DELIVERY STAFF TO NEW PARENTS. DISTRIBUTIONS PRIMARILY FUNDED THE KINLEY PROJECT, AN EFFORT TO SUPPORT NEW PARENTS OF PREMATURE AND STILLBORN INFANTS. THE PARENTS ARE PROVIDED WITH A "KEEPSAKE CARE BOX" OF COMFORT ITEMS. FOR THE PARENTS OF STILLBORN INFANTS, THE BOX INCLUDES A SMALL DIGITAL CAMERA, A FRAMED HAND AND FOOTPRINT CAST SET, LETTERED BEADS FOR NECKLACE/BRACELET, STILLBORN GRIEF BOOKS, A BABY HAIR KEEPSAKE LOCKET, A BIRTH CERTIFICATE, A HAND AND FOOTPRINT KIT, INFORMATION ON LOCAL GRIEF SUPPORT GROUPS, A WARM BLANKET, AND AN ENCOURAGING LETTER FROM A STILLBORN CARE ADVOCATE. PREMATURE BABY CARE BOXES INCLUDE A PREEMIE BEANIE, A POCKET BLANKET/WRAP, PREEMIE SOCKS AND MITTENS, A STUFFED ANIMAL, A FRAMED FOOT AND HANDPRINT SET, A PLUSH BABY BLANKET, A GAS CARD, AND A GIFT CARD FOR A TWO-NIGHT HOTEL STAY FOR PARENTS TO BE ABLE TO VISIT THEIR BABY WHILE IN THE NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT.
