THE EXEMPT PURPOSE IS TO ORGANIZE, ARRANGE, SPONSOR, AND PROMOTE ACTIVITIES OF ALL DESCRIPTION OF THE FURTHERANCE OF PATRIOTISM, EDUCATION, AND HISTORICAL AWARENESS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, TO PERPETUATE THE MEMORY AND SPIRIT OF THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO ACHIEVED AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE, AND TO ARRANGE AND PROMOTE SOCIAL AND FRATERNAL GATHERINGS AND ACTIVITIES OF ALL TYPES FOR THE MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC AND TO CONDUCT ANY BUSINESS ACTIVITIES NECESSARY, INCLUDING BUYING, SELLING, LEASING, AND ENCUMBERING REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY OF ALL DESCRIPTIONS CONSISTENT WITH THE ACT OF INCORPORATION AND BY-LAWS OF THE NATIONAL SOCIETY OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION.

KSDAR PROGRAMS SUPPORT VA CENTERS, SCHOLARSHIPS, HINDMAN SETTLEMENT SCHOOL, AND INCLUDES SUPPORT OF NATIONAL PROJECTS.
MAINTENANCE OF DUNCAN TAVERN HISTORIC CENTER BUILT IN THE EARLY 1790S. DUNCAN TAVERN IS NOW THE STATE HEADQUARTERS AND HOUSES A COLLECTION OF ARTIFACTS AND ANTIQUES THAT TELL THE STORY OF KENTUCKY'S HISTORY FROM THE LATE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY UNTIL THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION EFFORTS SINCE 1940. IT IS OPEN TO VISITORS FOR TOURS AND CONTAINS THE JOHN FOX, JR. GENEALOGICAL LIBRARY. THE LIBRARY ASSISTS WITH THE DOCUMENTATION OF REVOLUTIONARY WAR ANCESTORS AND CONTAINS RESOURCES UNIQUE TO VARIOUS KENTUCKY COUNTIES.
