DRIVE ONE LAUNCHED "C.T.E. AND AUTOMOTIVE MEDIA FOR STUDENTS OR C.A.M.S. TO CONVERT OUR CURRICULUM TO VIRTUAL LEARNING. THIS HELPED OVER 60 CONSORTIUM STUDENTS ACCESS AND COMPLETE THEIR AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY CLASSES FROM HOME, WITH LIMITED TO NO FACE-TO-FACE INSTRUCTION.DRIVE ONE REOPENED TO FULL CAPACITY IN AUGUST WITH THE STUDENTS RETURNING TO FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES. THREE CONSORTIUM DISTRICTS PARTICIPATED, INCLUDING SOUTH LAKE SCHOOLS, LAKE SHORE, PLUS THE ADDITION OF WAY AND GROSSE POINTE SCHOOLS.DRIVE ONE LAUNCHED AN ADDITIONAL NIGHT OF AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMING WITH "PROJECT 4REAL", WHICH PROVIDED STUDENTS WITH SIX HOURS A WEEK OF ADDITIONAL SHOP TIME OUTSIDE SCHOOL HOURS.IN JULY 2021, DRIVE ONE'S #1D LATE MODEL AND NOVA BOTH RACED AT EVENTS AT BIRCH RUN SPEEDWAY, WHERE THEY FINISHED TOP-15 IN BOTH OF THEIR RESPECTIVE EVENTS.FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SEVERAL YEARS, DRIVE ONE STUDENTS ENTERED 12 1/24 SCALE MODEL CARS INTO THE DETROIT AREA AUTO MODELERS (D.A.A.M.) SHOW IN NOVEMBER, WHERE THEY SWEPT FIRST-THROUGH-THIRD IN THE JUNIOR CLASSES. THESE CARS WILL ALSO COMPETE AT THE DETROIT AUTORAMA AND D.A.A.M. SPRING SHOW IN MARCH, AS WELL AS THE IX PISTON-POWER AUTORAMA IN CLEVELAND.STUDENTS SPENT THE FULL YEAR RESTORING THE VERY-FIRST 1974 CHEVY CAMARO Z28, WHICH WILL BE COMPLETED FOR THE DETROIT AUTORAMA IN MARCH AND IX PISTON-POWER SHOW IN CLEVELAND IN APRIL. THEY ARE ALSO WORKING ON A '67 PONTIAC GTO FOR DETROIT, AND AN '86 IROC CAMARO THAT WILL COMPETE IN CLEVELAND ALONGSIDE THE '74.2021 SAW 60 CONSORTIUM STUDENTS COMPLETE THE PROGRAM VIRTUALLY, WITH 100% GRADUATING. AS OF DECEMBER 31ST, WE ANTICIPATE AN INCREASE OF 90 CONSORTIUM STUDENTS COMPLETING THE PROGRAM IN JUNE 2022.
